WASHINGTON (AP) Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the United States is prepared to share with China some of the information it has about this week's U.S. satellite shootdown.
His comments came after Beijing complained the missile strike could cause harm to outer space security and some countries.
Gates told reporters during a visit to Hawaii that the United States is prepared to share whatever it can "appropriately" share with China.
The Pentagon said earlier that debris from the obliterated satellite is being tracked over the Pacific and Atlantic oceans but appears to be too small to cause damage on Earth.

There has to be more to this story.
There is. Our government wants China to keep buying our debt and wants to utilize their slave labor force. So we cave into Chinese demands.
Borrow and spend doesn't sound so great anymore, huh?

If we’re sharing ACCURATE data with the ChiComs, Gates and those directing him are utter idiots.
Sigh.

No big deal, just enough info to let them know what we can do if they piss us off.

China will get everything it demands.
Else they will cut off their flow of cheap goods.
Or stop rescuing Wall Street and our banks.
Or stop letting every Navy four-star admiral suck up to them.
Kids in grade school today will be subjects in the Chinese colony of the United States in 2048. They will have few freedoms, but they will have their Playstations XVII and cheap clothes, all the same color and design.
The good news? At least the quality of education will probably improve under the Chinese rule.

Thank you for the explanation. Yet somehow this thread would be incomplete without at least some mild hysterics. ; )

You forgot to add after the leasing of the land between the Chinese load holders and the non-indigenous Mexican population.

This shows to the world we can take out any missiles coming our way.
dIt also says, “You mess with our satelites and we will mess with yours.”

There is. What we will share is the time and place of the intercept...and what debris was left after impact. We will also let them know how long we belive the debris will remain in orbit. That's routine. NORAD shares information on every spaceborne object, to make sure other countries don't mistake a falling satellite for an inbound missile.
To: Pyro7480
Trajectory of the debris, perhaps? That’s “data from the shootdown” ...

Just enough information to say, look, HoChiMin what we will do to your stuff if you piss us off too bad.

LOL. No matter than Ho Chi Minh was about as Chinese as my Scots-Irish grandmother. Too funny. Perhaps using Mao or Deng Xiao Ping would have been more appropriate? They, like Ho Chi Minh, have this in common, they are all dead.
