I know geologist are convinced that they know that much about geology. I’m not so convinced that they do.

For all your skepticism, and I guess you are refering to the 'link' to the Mammoth Caldera, there is a considerable volume of seismic history that does not show the inferred linkage to exist. Can you tell me the motion mechanism for today's quake? Can you tell me the tectonic setting at Mammoth or Wells? Yeh, geologists may not know everything, but we know enough to look at events like this with a level head and not going Y2K with it.

LOL.

I do recall some incredulous reactions of geologists a year or several years ago . . . I forget the specifics . . . some quake or eruption which registered a shocking correlation with measurements in a region construed to have no connection to the triggering region.

I just expect a LOT more of that.

I’m convinced that God is seriously going to communicate to all Creation how puny our vaunted knowledge of reality is.
