Conservatives stayed home because McCain pretty much has the nomination sewed up.

There is actually a heated contest in Clinton v. Obama. That gets people out to vote.

It’s really quite simple if you take a moment to think about it.

Welcome to FR.

What worries me, is his lawyer. Hearing Bob Bennet - Clinton's lawyer - .defend McCain's honesty and innocence with the same passion he did when he was defending Clinton; had me imagining a wrinkle in his words. . .

Found it all believable. . .but then, had to consider the source. Also does not help that the 'lobbyist' looks a whole lot like Cindy, his wife. Know how that goes too. . .

OTOH. . .McCain has the benefit of my doubt. . .

it's hard to imagine mccain being romantic with anybody ... after kissing her, he probably goes off on a rant about Limbaugh, "That's right, Limbaugh, I'm not a nut like you! I'm going to win! win! win!"

They treated him well. He won’t see it.

As did the NYT's by their endorsement of McCain. And for sure, the 'Gray Lady' speaks for the collective lot of them. . .

We we see more and more of the twisting of facts to fit

The GOP has made it’s bed with the LIBERAL OPEN BORDERS SOROS PAID FOR RINO and it will ..lead to

the biggest defeat in the GOP’s history.

DO I take glee in this NO. But from BUSH 41 on the Liberal
wing of our party has designed this defeat. and are now
reaping it’s effect. see my tag line.

Either McCain screwed around on his wife or he didn’t.

which wife? A lot of people know nothing about McCain, but I'm sure the DBM will enlighten them between now and Nov. They just want to balance the millions of dollars of free positive publicity they have given the "maverick" when he was sticking it in the eye of his party and President Bush. /s

Because power corrupts, society's demands for moral authority and character increase as the importance of the position increases.

John Adams

This is a dud. This will be ancient history by November.

True if there was no affair. If there was a romantic relationship between McCain and the lobbyist, we haven't heard the last of it.

The New York Times is pathetic. But I can't believe NYT and WaPo ran with this story in such a big way with nothing more than the assertions of two anonymous "disgruntled" former associates and one fired former campaign employee.

They could have tapes, photos, video, or the testimony from some girlfriend of the lobbyist, etc. If so, you can bet we'll be hearing about it all summer.

“He could choose Thompson as his VP, resign under pressure from the “scandal” and then turn his delegates over to Thompson. Thompson could choose Rice as his VP and Thompson/Rice could then run against Obama/Edwards.”

We can dream, can’t we? But I would have Thompson choose Romney as his VP to take on Obama/?.

Thanks for posting that, I am about ready to stop even looking at posts about this RINO - with
the spin and twisting of facts by the growing GOP BOTs
and McCainiaks desperate postings. The case against MCCAIN has been well made and the case for him is just emotion
of fear that never wins elections.

“The New York Times may have done what McCain has not been able to do, unite Conservatives behind him.”

Not the evangelicals, which McCain was already on shaky ground with. And he needs them to win, also.

A caller on C-Span this morning was delighted by this and said the story proves McCain is unfit to be President. Then he said McCain is a terrorist for dropping bombs on N. Vietnam.

IF they had any actual facts they would have printed facts rather than inuendo. This is typical of the NYTimes, a very slimey “newspaper”.

It is past time for all advertisers for the NYTimes to bail on them; they are nothing but a trash heap. Garbage in/garbage out.

Keller and Pinch are pathetic individuals. Remember, this is the newspaper that openly provides terrorists are secrets (TSP) and then tries to justify it.

They are scum.

He could choose Thompson as his VP, resign under pressure from the "scandal" and then turn his delegates over to Thompson. Thompson could choose Rice as his VP and Thompson/Rice could then run against Obama/Edwards.

Unfortunately, that strategy assumes that McCain cares more about his country than his ego.
