Among all Americans, 19% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 77% disapprove. When it comes to Bush's handling of the economy, 14% approve and 79% disapprove. ...
A total of 78% of Americans say the national economy is getting worse and 47% say the national economy is in a recession.

But any way you look at it, the public believes the economy is bad and getting worse - which is ironic because there has not even been a single quarter of GDP decline and thus this is not a recession.
And the only help the sitting President can give the Republican nominee is fund raising.
I am guessing this picture will be in ever Democratic Presidential Campaign ad.
ARG polls suck. They are notoriously bad.
I should have also mentioned this is an almost unreasonable on month drop. Like you said their polling has problems.
Bush job approval Approve Disapprove Undecided
Feb 2008 19% 77% 4%
Jan 2008 34% 59% 7%
I guess I’m just not feelin it...
I keep hearing how we have all these economically “hard hit” areas, but they always refer to things that we’ve known for many years, such as steel mills, autos and textiles.
I suppose things can be slowing down, but this election seems like a media attempt to create a self-fulfilling prophecy.
>>I am guessing this picture will be in every Democratic Presidential Campaign ad.<<
Could McCain look worse in that picture?

There are fundamental reasons to be concerned - high deficits, signs of inflation and the Fed having cut rates so much.
But the 4th quarter numbers were still showing growth
"I'll keep pushing 'til we get our amnesty,
I don't care if it drives my poll numbers as low as yours."
Is a bad poll better than no poll at all? An informed comment on ARG and Zogby.
Looks like they are on a date, George is bored and McCain is not.
>>ARG has been among the worst of the Primary polls. Below is a Kos piece on them and Zogby. Even they don’t like them.

I have to concede that is in fact a good article from KOS.
I don’t think I’m gonna post ARG polls any more. Thank you.
There. Fixed it.
That was a really unfortunate position for the administration to take - they are supposed to be on our side on the 2nd amendment.
GDP is only one indicator.
If the GDP was all that mattered, we could have one King and one Queen own 99% of our nation’s wealth, the rest of us work as peasants for them producing even more wealth for them, point to the overall increase in economic growth, and say our economy is doing great. It’s also about how all that wealth being produced is being shared among those who are creating it. It not trickling down fairly to those helping to create it doesn’t show up in the GDP.
This survey is absolutely worthless. A random sample of 1,100 adults translates into the probability that some groups are overrepresented and coincidentally they are groups that don't favor Bush, watch too much MSM news and overall are illinformed/disinformed. While the poll does state that Democrats, Republicans and Independents are polled they fail to say how many of each. And the jumps in numbers from January to February are beyond belief.
Again this is worthless. The only value of this poll is to once again prove the dumbing down of America.

The analysis that Anti-Bubba182 posted in #10 convinced me to not post any more ARG polls. I’m not sure that the sample size is too small but there accuracy record is too low.
I forgot to courtesy ping you in #18. Sorry about that.
Just a parade of ****ing stupidity. It's as if they were surveying people on how many believe in UFOs, and that one of the major political parties has made belief in UFOs a central issue.
A recession means two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. We haven't even had one yet. No matter what stupid people, even if they comprise half of the country, believe.
Marching morons.
