5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has uncovered information on the driver of the van that hit the school bus.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned through state license records and state staff that the driver of the van does not have a valid driver's license.
Alianiss Morales, of Motevideo, was convicted of driving without a license two years ago, according to police and Chippewa County Court administration staff.
Morales was pulled over, according to the clerk of court's office, after a report of an an erratic driver. The officer found she was driving in Motevideo without a license.
The Minnesota State Patrol will be working with the National Transportation Safety Board to try and determine a cause for the crash. Investigators have been at the scene Wednesday and they plan to inspect all the vehicles involved and conduct interviews with students who were on the bus.
Morales, 23, remains at the hospital.
Two brothers and the daughter of a teacher were among four children killed in Minnesota's worst school bus crash in at least two decades.
The fourth victim was the son of a former teacher at Lakeview School, the small southwestern Minnesota school wracked by the crash.

I know the probable answer, but do we know for sure that she’s illegal?

I found another article that said she worked at the Jenny-O turkey processing plant, which makes it almost certain.

has learned through state license records and state staff that the driver of the van (Alianiss Morales) does not have a valid driver's license. With that name, and no drivers license, chances are real good this is just another individual in the country illegally.
If she is, there will be a lot of questions in regards to this event.

I probably shouldn’t have made the fence crack, but I am alarmed at the steady rise of fatal accidents in this country involving undocumented drivers........

Morales eh?...well I am shocked.
To: ButThreeLeftsDo
They had better charge this individual with the absolute maximum.
How can you not see a school bus in broad daylight?

James Hancock said there wasn’t enough time to slam on his brakes or think about what was unfolding in front of him Tuesday as he became entangled in a three-vehicle crash that killed four children.
“I saw the maroon van run a stop sign, it blew over the railroad tracks and hit the bus, sending it sliding into me,” Hancock, 47, said from his hospital bed in Sioux Falls, S.D. “The next thing I knew, they were hauling kids out and it was chaos.”

The bus driver was licensed. The driver of the van that plowed into the bus was not.

Thanks, I realized that after I posted, so I had my comment deleted. I guess he’s just killing children that Americans refuse to kill.

There was a story about a judge a couple of days ago that said this was no big deal.

Thanks. Living in NJ, it always amazes me how in other parts of the country emergency car accident cases routinely wind up in hospitals a hundred miles or more from the accident.
They interviewed Hancock from his bed in Sioux Falls.
The families are lucky they have such useful and credible surviving witnesses as Hancock and the busdriver.

She.
I'll point out that in my neck of the woods drunks who were born in this country are frequently arrested for driving without a license.
Including a clown two years ago who was clocked at 90 on a residential street a few blocks from my house.
I wonder what her toxicity results will be.
