Early in Senator John McCains first run for the White House eight years ago, waves of anxiety swept through his small circle of advisers.
A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, in his offices and aboard a clients corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself instructing staff members to block the womans access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.
When news organizations reported that Mr. McCain had written letters to government regulators on behalf of the lobbyists clients, the former campaign associates said, some aides feared for a time that attention would fall on her involvement.
Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship.
Uh Oh!
This is Breaking News on MSNBC with Keith Olberman right now.

Nevermind..I keep forgetting about the double standard.
So this must mean that the NYT is close to breaking the Obama homo-limosine story?
Funny, did the NYT run a front pager on John Edwards’ little bun in the oven?
Months later, NY TIMES set to launch results of its McCain investigation of senator’s relationships with lobbyists... Developing Late...
PER DRUDGE...
Lou Dobbs is talking about this (and COINCIDENTALLY- Keith Olberman)

A vote against McCain is a vote for Obama and these sleazy left wing bastards.
2004? Not going to get traction.
Rush was right! As soon as he became the heir apparant the news media that previously gushed over him and his views turned on him. And, apparantly, months after the story had been originally finished.
Well duh, of course not! John Edwards is one of them.
Keith probably had to double up on his pantie liners for this one.
We have a country in big trouble, can’t any of these turkeys keep it in their pants and pay attention to business?
NYT, Dobbs, olberboy?? Gee, vast left wing conspiracy, ya think?
So the NYT finally came out with this story...I wonder, why now?
Is this the same thing that the LA Slimes was reportedly sitting on???
