It might be a unique opportunity for the Republican Party. Start running ads telling the truth about the democrat’s complicity in actually holding back legislation favorable to blacks. Tell the truth about the birth of the parties, etc., etc..

You're absolutely right, Bo. If the Democrats betray Black America--as they certainly will if it's to their political advantage, Black America or anyone or anything else--the Republicans should make a determined effort to bring Americans of African descent back home to the Republican Party, where they belong.

The Republican Party was founded as the anti-slavery party, as opposed to the pro-slavery Democrat Party. The Democrat Party is the party of Jim Crow, segragation, and the Ku Klux Klan. The Republican Congress passed the civil rights legislation of the 1960s and '70s that ended de jure racial segregation in the U.S.

The Republican Party continues to be the party of liberty, equality, justice, democracy, and decency. It is the rightful political party of Black America--and of all decent people of the United States.
