“The Dem power brokers aren’t going to foist Hillary on the party over Obama because of race alone. They’ll do it mainly because she has establishment power over them. Whether it’s FBI files or favors or because she knows who they slept with last year.

So it’s not just black voters who will feel, and be, disenfranchised. Obama’s lead over Clinton cuts across all demographics. White folks who’ve voted for him will be at least as pissed off as black folks.

Young voters will be especially annoyed, since for a lot of them this is their first experience with the American political system. I don’t know whether they’ll feel the pain strongly enough to riot, or just shrug it off as politics as usual and go back to staring at MySpace.”

Remember who the head of the Democratic Party is: Howard Dean. He is not in the Clinton camp and has never been a member of the Democratic Leadership Council, the Clinton power center in the party. Dean will not endorse anyone, but you can bet he’s pro-Obama.
Obama is well positioned with the power elites of the party, particularly Ted Kennedy. He’s done his “inside Democrat politics” homework.
I don’t think there’s any stopping Obama, until the general election.
