Early Exit Polling In Wisconsin
Captain's Quarters ^ | Feb. 19, 2008 | by Ed Morrissey

Posted on 02/19/2008 3:30:43 PM PST by jdm

The AP has released its early exit polling demographics in Wisconsin, and the results offer hope to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. They confirm that populist rhetoric has large appeal among Democrats, where 70% of their primary voters oppose globalization, and a majority felt the economy was performing poorly. Both candidates spent the last week hammering those themes and have to be encouraged that they resonated with the party base.

The other numbers favor Hillary. More women than men voted on Democratic ballots, and nine in ten were white. Only about 40% were college graduates, where Obama usually holds an advantage. Obama can take heart that the AP describes the typical Democratic primary voter as "slightly younger" than the Republican counterpart.

I will live-blog the results later this evening in a fresh post. The Republican race will be more or less a footnote, but that may produce a large crossover vote -- and it will be interesting to see whether Wisconsin Republicans like Obama or Hillary more.

I have a feeling that Hillary Clinton will carry Wisconsin with 4 to 6 points. We shall see.

Fox has her losing women and splitting union households, which bodes ill for her prospects. She needs a clear win with both, and she’s lost 14 of 25 where she has one or less.

Does it really matter which of the two Marxists wins?

There was an hilarious cartoon in the Madison paper today showing an ovious leftist agonizing over his democrat ballot, saying to himsef “So, am I a racist or a sexist?”

We need them to pummel each other mercilessly right to the convention. When Obama goes in with a delegate lead, and the guys in they smoky back room flip the nomination to Hitlery, all hell will break loose!

What good will that be? We are then going to be stuck with McCain. Unless by some miracle and McCain loses the nomination America is doomed.

The only way McCain will not be the Republican nominee is if he dies or something terrible happens to his health. Other than that he is the Republican nominee and the next President of this great USA.

Like it or not, McCain’s our guy. I’d rather have him in the Oval Office than either Obama or Hillary. Perhaps we’ll get lucky and he’ll pick an excellent conservative VP and heir apparent.

"What good will that be? We are then going to be stuck with McCain."

Would you rather be stuck with Obama???
Or Hillary???

If you're wishing for a GOP nominee other than McCain, well, that ship has already sailed!

McCain is just as liberal as either of them and MUCH more dangerous. I used to know him.

We will probably survive McCain.

Whether we would survive Hillary or (even worse) Obama is questionable.

Feelings.

Hmmm. How about a new electronic voting machine where fingerpads next to each ballot entry measure finger temps. Get warm hands for Obama! Sort of like mood rings.

That would be a honest feeling based vote.

Yes we will survive McCain and we will do very well under him as a Commander in Chief in time of war.

Under Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama we will have socialism and defeatism.

“We will probably survive McCain.”

That is uncertain since Mad McCain would be in charge of the button. Obama would not push it. Better Obama than McCain.
