YBOR CITY, Fla. -- A Florida church issued a challenge for its married members on Sunday: Have sex every day.
Relevant Church head pastor Paul Wirth said the 50 percent divorce rate was the catalyst for The 30-Day Sex Challenge.

I can "violate" the sabbath with a clean conscience. I do it just about every week.
Could make for an interesting service come Sunday.
You are trying to make a general scripture trump another that is very specific. Also, the “general” one speaks of how to live regarding many things other than marriage. It is almost like how a rabbi would counsel his people as they were being marched into one of the nazi death camps.
In the first verses, he is talking about the relationship between a man and his wife. Starting in verse 26, he is speaking about life in general and gives it a CLEAR context with the words “because of the impending crisis...”
He is speaking to his contemporaries about an “impending crisis” which gives the WHY of what he is saying.
If Christian men, from that date forward, truly did live “as though they were not married”, there would be no Christians alive today.
As you say. It is about context.
In my previous post, I said “you” I meant “Fabian”.
I was merely agreeing with you. Sorry about the confusion.
I was thinking of that very movie. His wife is making the bed and looks out the window and sees him walking home. She just pulls the covers back again...
Now that is funny!
Now that is funny!
Leviticus 15 covers most of the laws regarding uncleanness due to discharge. The additional law in Lev 20 was meant to drive home how serious it is for the time of uncleanness after menstruation to be observed. By having sex during menstruation, both partners are risking the spread of disease that would not only harm them, but can easily spread throughout the community. It is potentially deadly behavior, therefore the punishment is steep.
You don’t get wafers at communion, you get a little blue pill.
Oops! My bad. Yeah, other posters had mentioned the whole sabbath thing and I sometimes forget it is there.
Interesting, tithing is another one. The only places it is mentioned in the new testament is where it talks about Jewish history or, in the case of Jesus’ own words, he condemns the pharisees about tithing while ignoring other things. He even goes as far as to say they “should have” done both, but not “should” do both.
To Christians, tithing is not a goal, nor a limit. It is irrelevant. For some it is too much and others it is not enough. The new testament is pretty darned clear about that.
I wonder what the Church will ask its members to do next month.
Are you saying that the prohibition against homosexual acts, does not apply to gentiles?
I think you meant to direct your reply to camle .. read her (I'm assuming) original post and my response and you'll see that you and I are on the same page.
no pun intended, I hope.
I might know you would be the one to ping me to this. ;op
“Moses came AFTER Noah!”
Yeah, so?
“Would you care to revise and extend your remarks?”
The convenet of Sinah (Moses) was for the Jewish people, alone, not for the gentiles, who remained under the earlier covenent of Noah.
This is basic theology, and accepted by most all denominations of Christians -— the exception being that, as Christians are “grafted onto” the Promise to Abraham, SOME deem themselves under Mt. Sinai, as well (albeit released from the ultimate penalty, due to Grace).
“Are you saying that the prohibition against homosexual acts, does not apply to gentiles?”
Where did you get that in my post?
Homosexual acts (and adultery and besiality and anything else weird) falls under “no sexual immorality,” which is part of the Laws of Noah.
Same here. Where do we sign up at this place? Are we allowed multiple wives and or girlfriends?
anything that boosts the male members is ok with me, lol.
