Rhett walked out on Scarlett on the day her sister died right as she expressed her love for him. In my opinion, he is crap. Despicable man. I hope someone in Charleston shot him in the balls and it took him several days to die.

Margaret Mitchell was constantly asked if Scarlett & Rhett would ever get back together. She always said “I don’t know.”

My great-grandmother and her 2 daughters were extras in the movie.

Bette Davis did not get that part in Jezebel, because she did not get the one in Gone With the Wind...check it out, please, Jezebel, was made in 1938, before Gone With the Wind was even made, and made even before the part of Scarlett O’Hara was cast...GWTW was made in 1939...

Here is a Wikipedia article about the film...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jezebel_%28film%29

Rather, it was thought, by many in the film industry, that the film Jezebel, was made, kind of like an audition for Bette Davis, in her attempt to land the role of Scarlett...it was thought, that Jezebel could be used to land her the role of Scarlett...it was thought wrong...just about every actress in Hollywood wanted that role of Scarlett and just about everyone tried out for it...

Still the film Jezebel is worth viewing in its own right, with a very young Bette Davis, and a very young Henry Fonda...

I had no idea that Jezabel was before GWTW! I did know that everyone wanted the part.

Thanks for the info!

Good stuff!

You are most welcome....so few people know about the film Jezebel, and the history behind it, concerning Bette Davis, and yet it really is quite a fine film, all on its own...it is a film, which I view whenever it happens to be on TV...

I’ve seen it a couple of times, and I do like it; but I didn’t know that it was an “audition” for Bette! It’s good; but it’s no GWTW. Now I understand!
