Then there was Jane Fonda sitting on top of a Viet Cong Tank spewing anti-American venom while the truly brave and honorable sat a few feet away tortured by their vicious captors while back home in America countless stupid anti-war protestors and Walter Cronkite worked to destroy the very foundations of our great American traditions and values. Not a prideful time at all, except for those that stood valient against Communism, defending Freedom.
Hey, perhaps we should give Mrs. Obama a break. Not easy being the wife of the official first black presidential candidate battling against the guy who thinks he is the first black president running for his third term and his wife who thinks she is entitled to be our president just because her dear husband screwed it up and around. Mrs. Obama is not a veteran campaigner, nor is she going to be in a position to declare war, or sign legislation.
Finally, we should look through her eyes, live in her skin and mind to understand her experience and what she meant to say. I'm sure she meant to say "I've never been prouder..." perhaps?
LOL. They're ALL disgusting. We have a choice of spouses: Obama who isn't proud of being an American, McCain who steals pain meds out of charity boxes, and Clinton who is a lothario. Some choice.
“...the very foundations of our great American traditions and values....”
That is the entire point.
Of course there will be individuals along the way and things will be done that we don’t like.
But when you talk about our “country” what are you talking about? I think of our founding ideals. I doubt that Michelle even understands what they are.
Anyone who knows the foundation of this country, and who is not profoundly, humbly, reverently, overwhelmed with an almost unbearable flood of pride.....
Well, I can say many many many many bad things about such a person. But let me just say one. That person has absolutely no business whatsoever seeking to take up residence in our White House.
