Austin, TX (AHN) - Pollsters are predicting a close race in the delegate-rich state of Texas on March 4. The InsiderAdvantage says Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) has a slight lead over Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), while the Texas Credit Union League shows former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee tying with the presumptive party nominee for first place.
Clinton leads Obama in the state, 48 percent to 41 percent, according to a new InsiderAdvantage poll. Undecided voters accounted for 11 percent.
The results are based on interviews of 403 likely primary voters in Texas on February 14. Margin of error is 5 percentage points.
On the Republican side, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Huckabee are statistically deadlocked with 45 percent and 41 percent, respectively. Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) was in last place with 6 percent.
The Republican poll is based on a survey of 400 likely Republican primary voters from February 11 through February 13. Its margin of error is 4.9 percentage points.
Texas has 228 Democratic and 140 Republican delegates at stake.

Naw...we need to give the media a chance to write about a Clinton “comeback”...make the primaries as dirty and bloody as possible for the Dems.
It will be a glorious day in the Republic when this happens.
I am starting to root for Huckabee so that McCain will be forced to move our way.

Go Hillary....take the fight to the convention! Let the Super Delegates decide it.
She will win double digit wins in all her firewall states. That would give her some PR opportunity, and break Obama’s momentum, but as far as pure delegate count goes, she would NOT take him over and even if she does, he would overtake her again.......
It will still come down to Florida/Super Delegates.
Klintons don’t lose those kind of battles.......
Only question is that do they have either enough dirt or enough money to pacify Sharpton-Jackson-Bonds.
Obama is bit wimpy so I am sure he would accept the VP nomination.......
So it shall be written and so it shall be done.
It would be extraordinary if Huckabee won the Texas primary. I don’t expect that to happen, but the fact that he’s feasible speaks to the fact that there is dissatisfaction with McCain.
I think we could do better against Hillary than Obama.
Don’t count out the Clintons at any time. They will destroy the Democratic Party if they have to in order to get Hillary the nomination. Winning at any and all costs is the Clinton credo. Haven’t we all learned that yet?
Go Huck! This is the only way for Texas conservatives displeased with the Juan Mcxico Express overun of the state and Country to fight back.
If McCain becomes Pres, he will push Amnesty again.
