I aspire to snobdom, and my next visit to Best Buy will be to join them.
It’s sorta like the statement that Republicans tend to be more conservative than non Republicans...and we end up with liberals galore- McCain, Romney, Guiliani and Huckabee vying for the nomination- while Thompson and Hunter never generate support. Who can figure?
Mercedes are crap. They are another example of arrogance over functionality. They have one of the worst reliability ratings of any car, even American cars!
Are you Atari ST people still around? Geesh.. ;-)
I’m done buying new Windows systems. I’m stuck with them for now, but I prefer wife’s 10.3.9 iBook G3 over my own WinXP box.
Can’t wait to get my hands on a MacBook with Leopard.
As for Vista?

Apple released at at ridiculous price and several weeks later, lowered the price to something slightly less (but still) ridiculous. Users rioted. Well, maybe "rioted" is too strong a word, but they b*tched and whined a whole lot...so Apple refunded a portion of their price.
Only a lib company with lib users would do something like that. Apple is a CORPORATION for pete's sakes. They're in it to make money. Unfortunately, their users have vested them with the same status as a "Best Friend Forever" or some such nonsense.
Apple has pretty graphics, and is an excellent system for people that don't understand computers. Beyond that, I'd recommend PCs.
I’ve got both. My wife is a Microsoft programming guru and software lead. Our experiences have directly led to our present state of a “Microsoft free” environment. That’s out experience, not others...but both of us needed a tool, not a toy. I hate to say it folks, but the darned things “just work”...and this includes the 5 year old G4 that’s never had a reboot.
Amen.
I’ve encountered very few computer savvy Mac users. Maybe I’m not looking in the right places but I never could afford to pay for the proprietary boxes when I was growing up and detested the idea that all the software and hardware was so much more expensive than anything you could get for a PC or even the long dead Amiga.
Uh - huh. The term 'solipsism' comes to mind.
Ya got yer black turtleneck for being on the Mac. Ya got yer denim jumper for homeschooling. Ya got yer ladies hat for going to TLMass. I think I might be in a knitting cult, too, but the MSM hasn’t gotten to me yet on that one. I think I’ll need a big bulky sweater for that one. Oh, yes, and the last cult (that I know of, anyway....someone’s always coming up with something new) is the former-Catholic-schoolgirl cult, and we all know that all former CSG’s wear knee-socks...red ones if we’re feeling especially daring!
So, you do see that all this cult talk is just one big fashion nightmare, don’t you? Black turtlenecks look awful with a denim jumper, but ok with a denim skirt (on which the waistband has been rolled up about 4 times), with red kneesocks and a big, bulky fisherman’s sweater. Hey, wait, that sounds cool! But, no clogs....clogs are the signature of a liberal. So, if I ditch the jumper and go with the denim skirt, this could work. And, I don't think I'm superior, I KNOW I am, after all, I own about 6 macs!
At least it isn’t an Atari 800. :-)
I personally think every household needs at least one mac and one pc.
Mac owners aren’t as snobby and arrogant as Linux operators are!
We not only have the best systems, they cost us virtually nothing!
All we have to do is be a little smarter than the average bear, and that is easy given all the time we no longer have to use keeping virus and other PC attack modes at bay!
How many do you need?
LOL
Have you ever been overseas?
I wish I still had an Amiga...
I'm sorry you chose poorly.
