MOSCOW - Russia denounced Kosovo's independence declaration Sunday, warning that the move threatened to ignite a new conflict in the Balkans and calling on NATO and U.N. officials in the territory to nix the decision.
Russia requested a meeting of the U.N. Security Council, which held closed-door talks Sunday afternoon. Russia, which has veto power on the council, wants the council to renew efforts — long-since pronounced dead by the U.S. and other Western nations — to reach a negotiated settlement of Kosovo's status.
Kosovo's parliament approved the declaration of independence from Serbia, backed by the U.S. and European allies. Kosovo had formally remained a part of Serbia even though it has been administered by the U.N. and NATO since 1999, when NATO airstrikes ended former Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic's crackdown on ethnic Albanian separatists.

Judging from the Kosovars I used to work with (and Bosnians, Croatians et al) they are a Muslim nation in the same sense that Sweden is a Christian nation, which is to say, not really. Culturally, they have very little if anything in common with Middle Eastern Muslims, and they are not really churchgoing people, er, mosque going people.

Russia is frankly the knight in shining armor on this disastrous development.
NATO and the US have made serious errors in supporting the breakaway state of Kosovo, a state that narcotics and Saudi oil terror money created. We have now an expansionist state in the heart of Europe where Al Quaeda terrorists have safe haven.

I have thought we should pull out of Kosovo since before we went in. Move those troops to Iran where they will do us some good.

Oh, we get a smattering of info on this on the MSM. But the public is 99.99999% ignorant on this because of the MSM. Including me.
