The folks at General Electric must be so proud of their cable news network MSNBC.
Not only does one of its top stars regularly debase the President of the United States, but also his most recent tirade actually garnered the attention of an Iranian television network.
Coincidentally, the good folks at Press TV are just as enamored with Keith Olbermann as his fans at Daily Kos [cannot find Kos link for this. I used this link to try to rectify newsbuster's duplication}) (h/t JWF:
In a scathing commentary against President George W. Bush, MSNBC commentator Keith Olbermann declared Bush guilty of terrorism for playing what he sees as the fear card in an attempt to get the House to pass retroactive immunity for telecommunication companies that illegally helped the US government in its warrantless wiretapping program Thursday evening.
[...]
He also called Bush a fascist.
It must make MSNBC execs quite pleased to know their product is highly-regarded by one of America's sworn enemies. You think Ahmadinejad is a "Countdown" fan?
Of course, most American journalists would eschew getting praise from an Iranian television station. Alas, Olbermann likely will wear it as a badge of honor.
What does that say about his biases, and the idea that an American cable news network not only allows him to speak to the nation for 60 minutes five days a week, but also puts him in the role of commentator during debates and primary coverage?
On the flipside, maybe this makes good business sense.
Before you laugh, consider Olbermann's atrocious ratings in the States. Maybe MSNBC has given up on American viewers, and, instead, is actually appealing to Islamo-fascists around the world.
Wouldn't that explain a lot?

RATS underground LOVES KO, too - no?
No one likes Keith Olbermann more than Keith Olbermann. He consciously mimics Edward Murrow in a comical attempt at appearing to be an “heroic foil” to to the perceived excesses of his political rivals.
remember Olberman on October 10, 2007 referred to Free Republic as “lunatic fringe website” and its members as “sociopaths”
Not a dime's worth of difference?
Yeah, he did!
olberman is an idiot but he is still on the air. how long would an Iranian newsguy remain on possesion of his head if he said that kind of stuff about Ahmadinejad?
I shut off NBC Sunday night NFL coverage because of this individual. Got the message GE? Lots of other former fans want politics out of sports. Olber-rabid detracts from any enjoyment of football.
The Iranians have the slowest press in the cosmos. They’re just now picking this up?
And this is news?
There’s a shocker. I’m sure they also identify with him as a “premature and fumbling lover”.
There were more people watching the Daytona 500 then watch his show on a nightly basis....I would “almost” bet that the 100,000 or so people in the stands would also balance out his TSW numbers as well.
A 4 hr race, 100,000 people watching the same thing vs this guy’s 200,000 or so nightly audience?

Bttt
You do have a point. That is why I put it under the culture heading rather than breaking news.
Side note... I went to a NY Yankee game at the Bronx in early July. It was Old Timer's day... Olbermann goof was the on-field game announcer. I wish a foul ball would have taken Keith O out.
thanks. maybe one day on youtube the world will witness Olberman being taken off the MSNBC set in a straitjacket.
Iran and Keith Olbermann deserve each other.
Odormann. Clear?
This is not surprising. The more I deal with people on the left, the more I realize how deliberate the choice to take the road into the Valley of the Shadows really is.
