"Every time I hear the word 'conservative' it makes me sick to my stomach."
Once again, someone uses a Bible verse out of context to label his opponents as hypocrites. His brush is pretty broad, though. A lot of the Democrats in Alabama will also be offended by his comment. Can’t wait to see what happens when he tries to run for governor.
What a wind bag. Barkley always wants to be in front of a camera, and he has learned that he can do that by making controversial statements.
LOL! Jus turble.
Actally one could probably make a good argument in support of Sir Charles assertion, but the larger question is why should I believe Mr. Barkley has the ability to tell the difference, ie. what is his claim to expertise in this regard?
Barkley is pro gay marriage and pro-abortion and wants to run for governor in Alabama?
And what makes him think he’s not passing judgment himself on those he accuses of passing judgment?
he ‘was’ friends with a number of Republicans. It was social and it was based on the idea that The Chuckster wanted to be the Republican Governor of Alabama.
Chuck has gotten really, really lazy intellectually once it was impossible for him to return to the NBA.
Barkely is appearing in this month’s issue of Playboy for their 20 Questions interview.
THE 21ST QUESTION:
Who has the worst fans in the NBA?
BARKLEY:
When I played, the Boston Celtics had the meanest fans. They were the worst fans. They just loved their team and they were mean and nasty. I ain’t been back. I wish I had been there the last 10 years when they really sucked.
Well, I guess if one 'dribbles' enough, one would have to be.
For some strange reason, celebrities and the wealthy think that what they say actually means something to the rest of the world.
Could be, sometime back was talking about running for Gov of Alabama (or Mississippi?) as a “R”.
Either way, the man has the heart of the tin man, Jordan used to mock him about it, and it should be pointed out he threw a man threw a plate glass window for getting in his face about something or another...
Oh man, now when Robert Redford speaks up, I’ll be devasted..LOL!
Everytime I hear a jock talk about anything, I get sick to my brain.
I personally am sick of folks using the single verse Matthew 7:1 out of context.:
1 Judge not, that you be not judged."
On the surface, it sounds as if we are being commanded to not judge other people. What is funny - this verse, while sometimes attributed to Christ, was actually an introductory clause before Christ's words that start with verse 2, which puts the CONTEXT in:
2For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3Why do you see the speck that is in your brothers eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4Or how can you say to your brother, Let me take the speck out of your eye, when there is the log in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye.
A plain reading reveals that the whole concept is that we should refrain from being hypocrites by judging others for the same sins we harbor in our own lives. Thus the idea of removing the mote (log/limb/board) from our own eyes before trying to take the spec out of your neighbor's eye.
The reality is, we are suppose to make judgments to help people turn from the corruption (sin) in their lives. But try to correct someone for bad behavior when you have the same bad behavior in your life doesn't work.
I have only one question for Charles Barkley: How many NBA championship rings do you own?
Wow, Wolf Blitzer jeopardized his reputation for impartiality by hyping Charles Barkley’s comments? I’m shocked.
CONSERVATIVES
“FAKE CHRISTIANS”
One is a political term, the other a religious.
Is he talking about how the church is getting into the global warming hoax
He is a couple short of a 6 pack.
Dear Sir Barkley: How much of your millions have you donated to the poor, after the IRS took 35% of your money of course.
He equates being Christian with being against gay marriage and abortion. Are only evangelical Christians opposed to these evils?
Jesus can call the Pharisees hypocrites, but having Charles Barlkey believe he can, seems very self-righteous in its own way. Typical of people with no values to make judgments of people with them, and feel good about it that they socked one of those puritanical bastards in the eye!
