Patience. It's a long time until September. Plenty of time to dump the angry little man.
Almost any conservative will do. Both Democrat alternatives have serious hurdles to leap during the campaign. One Democrat has embarrassed our nation and racism is still deep seated in this country.
Now you make me feel bad for saying that, LOL.
But really, think about it. If No-Child-Left-Behind and Medicare-Part-D, had been proposed by Hillary, what would Republicans have done? I think they would have put up the fight to oppose it. Instead, we had congresscritters(R) introducing this legislation. If McCain promotes his global-warming-scam, will Republicans unite to oppose it? My guess is no. The media will tout it as a “Republican” plan, making it all the more unpalatable to swallow as you see what some here call “our own” stabbing you in the back, day after day.... for four ... or eight... very long years!
You said it right—damned if we do, damned if we don’t. Thankfully, I’m in California so my vote won’t make a darn bit of difference anyway. McCain doesn’t have a chance of winning California. He could only get 42% of the vote here in the primary and he can’t get the kind of grassroots support he would need to even come close.
As far as California goes, I support those saying we shouldn’t sink money down a rathole (McCain campaign) and should instead work to get other good folks elected to lower offices (man the foxholes!):

Then get the damn RINOs to quit trying to emulate democrats.
Who is the guy you are telling us to support instead of RuPaul? Just curious.
Your cut-and-run conservatism is just as bad as the DemonRATs crying for a pullout in Iraq so they can turn those guns to butter to grow the dependency class.
Ample evidence why partisan aren't embraced here on FR.
Oft time wish there was a Republican forum where these jerks could peddle their expedient solutions.
That there is a whole lot of blame to be puttin' on one ol' freeper!
I nominate your post as most hyperbolic of the day (that I've read, anyway.)
>> Who is the guy you are telling us to support instead of RuPaul? Just curious.
Chris Peden. Good conservative fellow.
Visit http://www.chrispeden.org
Send him a few bucks, if you’re so inclined. He’ll make good use of it.
What’s he running for?
I think district 14 may be close to me. We used to have ruPaul, but DeLay redistricted us, and I ended up with Lloyd Doggett! If you don't know him, look him us. He'll make you want to throw up.
The Peden family sure is attractive. We have 5 kids, too, so I know what that's like.
No one(anti-McCain conservatives) is talking about cutting and running. More like retreat, regroup and attack with a real conservative agenda and real conservative leaders. McCain only moves us further away from our objectives.
We can do more to influence others with our ideas if we work within the organization we want to change. This may imply joining the Democrat Party. Practically speaking, no.
The Republican Party is most aligned with our ideas. Because the party advocates the Big Tent philosophy, there is that political spectrum thing that has so many conservatives at odds with the Republican Party. I see it as a great melting pot. To call another part of the stew a "jerk" is, well, short sighted. With a little time, the stew makes a delicious dish.
Don't be impatient. John McCain has been gathering up the more spicy parts of the political spectrum. To conservatives like me, these are ingredients that make me want to throw up. However, I trust the chef. Once these ingredients are in the stew, OOOO! la! la! Ce plat est délicieux!
We will always swim in uncharted waters. There will be stinking swamps and alligators now and then. We must keep swimming.
The emergence of McCain is a political phenomenon out of our control. It is a result of a primary system which fails to front-load Republican stronghold states and allows open primaries. In the long run, we can change that.
In the short and long run, keep swimming!
We don't need to get along. We need to convince the Republican Party to get rid of an old, angry, little man before he ends up on his back, getting the reward he justly deserves, from a multi agency task force.
The “hyperbolic” nature of this is that as individuals, we make big effect.
I have learned that in order to keep swimming, one needs to wear nose plugs. It say this figuratively. Stand fast.
We just need to be patient. McCain is solidifying the moderate wing of the Republican Party. We will need them, just as Ronald Reagan needed those “Ronald Reagan Democrats.”
McCain’s senatorial activities make most Conservatives throw up. Mark Levin and others have already given the list. However, this has positioned McCain as an attractive candidate to a wider spectrum of the political landscape. He even has the Latin American community; a group that the DemonRATs thought they had in the bag. Not with McCain and the results of his McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform bill. McCain will steal these voters away from the DemonRATs like meat from a lion.
I ask this: Did that bill pass? No. However, to many in the political spectrum, McCain looks friendly to their situation. Sublime politics. They are now McCain voters. Some of these same voters may be illegals that the DemonRATs have registered (illegally) and counted as their own. Not!
Finally, just be patient. McCain is a stealth conservative. He learned this “stealth” in the Hanoi Hilton. He has learned how to look, smell, and taste like a liberal. All for political survival. He has swam with the sharks in the Senate! He has kept from being eaten by looking like, tasting like, and smelling like—a shark! However, when he becomes POTUS, he becomes something unique. He becomes Top Shark which is something the DemonRATs fear more than anything else. He will eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And, we know that McCain is a meat eater; not some girly boy, metro man.
Need I say more? I have already put some blood in the water. Watch an see them flock to this post thinking there is something to eat. Not!
In short, win friends, influence others, know where to make the most impact, and work for change.
Nice is for liberals. Those who are not conservative are my enemy. I'm willing to deal with them, but only from a position of strength. Voting for a liberal, in its best case, elects a liberal.
Conservatives will never control anything. We're only 30% of just one of many political parties or only about 15% of the electorate. The only strength we have is our numbers. 15% is enough to make a Republican victory improbable. Combine those numbers with a willingness to actively work against the candidacy of a liberal and now we are a force. A force that can upset the balance.
Follow the money. Folks don't contribute to the campaign of a loser. As it becomes clearer to corporate America that conservatives will not support a liberal, the angry little man's money will dry up, well before September. As Michael recently indicated: "Donors like me will not participate in schemes that send money to other states.".
For those true enemies, they will some day have no one listening. Besides, by that time, most of them will be dead.
