Is there a functioning Republican Party in California? The Governor is a liberal, the state assembly is run by socialists, and now McCain is the national nominee...he’s a Democrat.

Not good news.

California is no longer important.

My response: Screw the GOP. There’s almost as bad as the liberals. I say let the Democrats screw up the next four years and give the Republicans time to find themselves again. If not, maybe it’s time to form a third party.

as Pete Wilson once told Tom MCClintock years ago.. “You are irrelevant.”

We’re still paying for his ‘tuck tail and run’ and raising taxes. and now we are victims of ‘Re-Pete 2: aRnold does Sacramento’

Don’t be so rude. The guy has probably been reading us for a long time, and only had something he wanted to show us today. Personally, I found the article very interesting.

and you really think that we will have a country left worth fighting for after Hillery or Obama?

Make your stand now; if you had your candidate as the GOP candidate they would lose big time. The country is no longer, if ever, conservative.

" I say let the Democrats screw up the next four years and give the Republicans time to find themselves again."

The only problem I see (only?) with that logic is ... the "screw up the next four years .. " is, IMO ... a hell of a lot longer that four years.

The SC appointees alone would be a devastation and complete the annihilation of the late, great Nation, America.

I don't like it one bit ... but I think it would be a lot easier to fight with McCain for that 20% of the time spoken of by someone .. than to fight 90% of the time with a socialist executive, more than likely legislative, and what would become the Judiciary branches.

How do we correct the damage those three agencies produce?

We know Presidents stay in touch with past Presidents, and there's no reason for McCain to break from that practice.

What if he brings Karl Rove back in?

Believe me ... I truly wish things had gone another way, but they didn't.

So to the anti-McCainiacs here in FR ... explain how four years of a (more than) staunch socialist will NOT permanantly f*** us.

So Larry Dodge gave a $3 million dollar loan to the cagop that Duf and Arnie committed to resolve. The cagop then squandered the money on Arnold (not helping any other candidates-R) in the last election. Now, Arnold won’t help raise the funds to repay the loan, Duf is gone, and Dodge is using the loan as extortion to have the party leadership turned over to he and his liberal buddies and blaming Duf’s successor Nehring as the cause of all the problems.

Did I get that right?

Congress can openly oppose a Dem, Republicans in congress would have a hard time doing this with a president of their own party. If the Repubs in Congress would ever get some backbone, they could keep Obama/Hillary in check. It wouldn’t happen with McCain. Look at all these so-called conservatives kissing his @ss know and falling all over themselves to endorse him. A Republican congress would be forced to support his liberal ideas and bring the party even further to the left.

Really?

Then where is he?

No, the fact is, he’s a McCain shill. Why, he’s already gone on to his next forum to spam...

I so agree with you! Just the picture of either Hillary or Obama as Commander in Chief of our fine military gives me a very sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I cannot in any good conscience sell out those warriors to the likes of either of them.

The opposite has been true in California, with Schwarzenegger.
(Your argument is identical to the one used by people who brought us Arnold in 2003).

All he has needed to do is to silence opposition from the right in the name of "Republican" unity, and get a few weak-kneed legislators to follow him in his leftward-leaps. He has been able to advance the liberal agenda faster than any Democrat could have dreamed of.

McCain - the only Republican among the “Keating Five.” What a claim to fame.

Damn! I wish you hadn't said that calcowgirl ... I'm doing my best to keep from thinking.

This is all so much damned if we do, and damned if we don't.

I appreciate your reply ... really I do.

I don't want to cry on my deathbed as my kids ask ... "Dad, before you go ... what do we do?"

Cause I'm afraid my answer may be to give them the key to my gun cabinet and leave them with .. "You'll figure it out."
