“According to the federal Centers for Disease Control, 70 percent of all cases of HIV occur among men who have sex with other men (MSMs), people who are bisexual, or those who inject illegal drugs with infected needles.”
I’m surprised that the 70% includes drug addicts.
I am trying to figure out why bisexual men and men who have sex with other men are considered different.
I'm surprised the percentage isn't higher.
I can accept 70% if that represents a current snapshot of all HIV cases, nationwide. But given all we've learned over the years and all we're doing today (education, condoms, needle exchange, testing blood supplies), I would think that the yearly percentage of new cases would be closer to 90% homosexual.
Nothing to back that figure up. Just a guess.
