The Real Barack Obama
Chicago Jewish News ^ | 01/24/2008 | Robert Kandelman

Posted on 02/14/2008 8:27:55 PM PST by vrwc54

The feature article on Barack Obama fit him to a tee, all fluff and no substance. The sub-heading says that at every stage in his political career, Obama has reached out to the Jewish Community. Yet the only reaching out referred to in the article is that he sought backing from Alan Solow in Obama’s 1996 Illinois Senate run, the backing of Robert Schrayer in his 2004 U.S. Senate run, and named Boston philanthropist Alan Solomont as Obama’s fund-raising chief.

The article goes on to say that Obama has built relationships in the community to avoid murmurings about his divergences from pro-Israel orthodoxies. Obama has promised to use sustained and aggressive diplomacy combined with tough sanctions to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons. This is exactly the course of action Jimmy Carter used to condemn 52 U.S. citizens to 444 days of being held hostage in Iran until President Reagan took office and got them released.

Obama told AIPAC and NJDC that Palestinian needs must be considered in working out a peace deal and that no one has suffered more than the Palestinians. He also is asking for reparations from the Israelis to be paid to the Palestinians.

By the time I reached the end of your article, I was still looking for the facts to support your headline: “At every stage in his political career, Barak Obama has reached out to the Jewish community”. I turned the page looking for the rest of the article but found nothing.

Here are a few facts that would help your readers make a more informed decision about Barack Obama:

Although his father & step-father are Muslim and Obama attended a Muslim school, he chooses to attend a church headed by Jeremiah Wright, a Black Muslim supporter of Louis Farrakhan and who is a harsh anti-Israel advocate and whose governing body has taken a series of anti-Israel actions.

Obama also gained the support of George Soros, a fierce foe of Israel who has openly proclaimed his desire to break the bonds between America and Israel and has written of his desire to erode political support for Israel. Soros called for concessions to Hamas after which Obama appeared with Soros at a fundraiser.

Another fund raiser for Obama was held at the home of former Knicks player Allan Houston who had publicly proclaimed that Jews had Jesus’ “blood on their hands” and are “stubborn”. The American Jewish Congress noted that Obama would not take any money from someone who had expressed the same sort of remarks about African-Americans. Obama’s spokesman said Obama would not return the money raised by Houston.

Obama has openly advocated outreach towards Iran, a state that makes clear its genocidal intentions towards Israel, funds Hezbollah and terrorism against America, Israel, and Jewish targets throughout the world. He seemingly excuses attacks against Americans by Iranian-supported terror groups because we have provoked Iran by trying to liberate Iraq.

Obama is frequently absent during Senate votes so as not to have to take a stance on difficult issues such as when Congress voted to identify The Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terror group. This would make The IRG susceptible to sanction. Obama then criticized his opponents for supporting this bill.

Obama has called for withdrawal from Iraq which would destabilize the region and strengthen Iran’s military foothold. He has called for the abolition of nuclear weapons claiming that a nuclear armed America gives countries like Iran and North Korea justification for nukes.

I shudder to think that Obama as president would have access to nuclear arms. He doesn’t have the experience or judgment to utilize our military to safeguard our country or our allies. He has already said that he wants to negotiate with our enemies but is willing to attack Pakistan (our ally in the Afgan war).

I hope your writer and the editor that chose to run this story understand that by a candidate seeking financial backing from Jews, doesn’t mean that he is “reaching out to the Jewish Community”.

Obama's Palestinian Remark

Obama defended his remark that "nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people," a statement attacked by some pro-Israel activists. His version differed in tone if not in substance from the way it was originally reported, however.

Moderator Brian Williams: You said recently, "No one is suffering more than the Palestinian people." Do you stand by that remark?

Obama: Well, keep in mind what the remark actually, if you had the whole thing, said. And what I said is nobody has suffered more than the Palestinian people from the failure of the Palestinian leadership to recognize Israel, to renounce violence, and to get serious about negotiating peace and security for the region.

That's somewhat different from the way Obama was quoted March 12 by reporter Thomas Beaumont of the Des Moines Register. As reported, Obama attributed Palestinian suffering to "the stalled peace efforts with Israel" and not so narrowly to failures by Palestinian leadership only.

Des Moines Register, March 12: Obama told the Muscatine-area party activists that he supports relaxing restrictions on aid to the Palestinian people. He said they have suffered the most as a result of stalled peace efforts with Israel.

"Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people," Obama said while on the final leg of his weekend trip to eastern Iowa.

That statement would appear to lay some of the blame at the doorstep of Israel's leadership as well.

However, Beaumont also reported that Obama praised Israel as an important U.S. ally and urged the Palestinian government to recognize Israel and renounce terrorism. So far as we can tell, Beaumont was the only reporter present at the event and no full transcript exists.

As I’ve been saying, I think Obama is even more dangerous than hillary. And believe me, I am not a fan of the clintons.

I know. The thing in Hillary's favor is she is more calculating, she is more of a chess player and would think before she moves. I like to call her a "computer in a pants suit." I'm not saying she is not dangerous with her agenda, but she is not much of a loose cannon. Obama, he is one and he has an uncanny ability to charm a corpse back to life. He once said that if Osama bin Laden was in Afghanistan, he would just go in there and get him. I don't object to that but you do need to take some diplomatic steps first in order to prevent a possible wider war. Anyways see my tagline below.

I am not a supporter at all of obama., but that pic is a bad photo shop job

Look at the source. The photo is from New York Magazine... a very liberal rag. It was in a story about fund-raising for all the candidates, not just about Obama.

Why is Soros the only one seated?

He's god the father seated next to the lord. The picture looks totally posed with much symbology.

Of course Obama believes in reparations. Probably no one has asked him if he believes black Americans should be given reparations.

Good morning.
“I’m not sure the country could recover from even 4 years of Obamatopia.”

The end of the Mayan calender is supposed to be 12/21/2012, just over a month after someone will be elected to try to pick up the pieces of the United States left four years after the upcoming election.

So, does Osama Obama get elected in 2008 and bring everything crashing down in the four years he holds the office or does the Hildabeast get the nod and screw things up so badly that her successor in 2012 has no chance of ever fixing things? Or, does McCain get the Oval Office next November and drive the DemocRATs even more crazy than they have been since 2000, leading to CW3?

Sorry, just killing time before I go start the clock running on being able to pick up my new/old Enfield No 1, Mk III and get some more ammo.

Seriously, I think that BO is worse in the short term but, none of our choices will do anything but damage the country.

The Abomination of Desolation, standing where he ought not?

My thoughts exactly. He's so charismatic, making those who are blind unreasonably attracted to him. I bet most believers are not fooled.

It’s called being between a rock and a hard place......trust me, I sympathize. If either one of them gets in, you will almost instantly see income taxes just about double for most people, and the economy will tank even further.

We did the same only opposite - to vote for Barack. The reasoning behind our strategy is that Hildebeast will be fighting McCain for the center and swing vote. She’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing whereas most people (at least I thought) were aware of the fact that Obama is the most liberal Senator going.......now, I’m not so sure. It worries me Barack is a member of a mosque that follows the teachings of Louis Farrakhan (sp?)..... Anyway, he’s a black Muslim in Chicago.......

God that is scary. I read as much as I could (at work!!)
and plan to read more. I left feedback saying that were it not for FR, I would never have known about this. Hopefully enough of this information will get out before election day and will derail his efforts to enslave and oppress us all.

Interesting viewpoint. Something we should all think about - very, very carefully. It interests me Ted Kennedy “anointed” Barack. I wonder if it has to do with Barack’s anti-Israeli thing. Let’s not forget Joe Kennedy was selling arms to the Nazis, after all.........
