Posted on 02/14/2008 6:30:09 PM PST by Defendingliberty

Ok HELP HELPHELP…No Matter what we say, we are going to vote McCain…Hold you fire until I finish…I was toying with voting for Obama to stick it to the Florida Republican Party, but I have changed my mind…Granted we will have only 3 viable choices (stay home, Republican or Democrat) what will we do come Nov? ….Nobody is going to stay home…Pick the most palatable socialist? …It has to be McCain…for a campaign pin we need clothes pins with “Nose Holders for McCain”… Defendingliberty

I'm just afraid the dems will take the Presidency and the congress and hold it for 20 years..

As a Jr. high school student in 1976, I worried about that too, what with Watergate, Vietnam and all. But, no, the 'Rats exterminated themselves then as they'll do this time.

Take this to the Bank: Whether it's McCain, Hitlery or Osama as POTUS, they are out after one term. Guaranteed.

Ever read the story of Gideon?

Despite overwhelming numbers the bad guys still lose and those that compromised are counted as losers.

Good flame. You’ve proved my point.

Don't come in here lobbing grenades and not expect a response. I didn't tell you to grow up or that you weren't an American for voting for McCain.

Dish it out? Expect to take it.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all to have a Dem president simply declare victory in Iraq after a few months then redeploy the troops back home, ensuring they are treated as heros.

Would you argue with that?

Read some of that and get back to me if you’re so proud.

If you do, you’ll be the first, no one else has the guts.

Hell, you don’t either.

I am not voting for the continued invasion by Mexico...

So then you will fail to cancel out the vote of a stupid white college kid who saw the Obama-worshipping YouTube music video, and decided to support Mr. "Si Su Puede" himself. I'm sure Obama will be just peachy about securing the borders.

People are known by the company they keep and the people they support.

So since you are trying to help Obama get elected, what does that tell us?

You must have no idea who I keep company with, so don't try that ploy. I support the most conservative people in each election. Unfortunately, this time it will probably be McCain. I don't vote for people who have no chance of winning, since those votes help the lib/commies.

Yes, I'm quite the hack. You caught me using the same word in two different posts. Shame on me!

Oh, but I see you used "A" a few times in your sentence. Shame on you!

Paul Weyrich, president and CEO of Free Congress Foundation, said things might have been different if information such as the revelations about McKinnon and WND’s report that McCain’s foundation has been funded by billionaire George Soros since 2001 had been available earlier. “This validates everything that those of us who have reservations about McCain have been saying,” Weyrich said.

I’ve been on several threads like this. Here’s my take: We all want a conservative to be elected president. Is it possible to quantify conservatism, on a scale of 1 to 10? I would say that a pure, perfect conservative is a 10, like Reagan or maybe Goldwater. Newt, Cheney, Fred—maybe 8’s or 9’s, depending on which conservative ideals one views as most important. Hillary is a 1, although she tries to make believe she is a 2 or a 3. Obama is a big fat zero—the most liberal senator of all.

The big question becomes—what number is McCain? I’d say he’s a 4 or a 5. It’s easy to complain about him because he’s not an 8 or a 9. He’s not my idea of a conservative by any means. But, he is more conservative than Hillary and Obama.

So, let’s stop with the semantics. 1—He’s not a conservative. Not much argument there. 2—He’s more conservative than Hillary or Obama. You can argue that they’re all liberals, but it would be disingenuous to postulate that McCain is as liberal as the democrats.

Beyond that, it’s a personal decision. If you can stomach voting for someone who is not a conservative, but is demonstrably more conservative than his opponent, then go ahead and vote for McCain. If you understand that McCain is more conservative than his opponent, but not nearly conservative enough to suit you, then don’t vote for him.

Voting for him does not violate some sacred law of conservatism. It merely is a pragmatic approach, choosing the most conservative person left standing. The name-calling, personal insults and the like are really not very productive.

Maybe McCain was not your choice, but time has come to rally around the Person who will represent your party.

So let me see if I got this right: We should rally around a party that doesn't seem to want to rally around us, even after all the years we've supported them?

John McAmnesty? Nope!

Seems that some folks in the GOP are suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

I think it is more like battered wife syndrome. They know their choice is bad for them but they are so petrified by fear that they willingly volunteer for more battering and "hoping that he will change this time".
