YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - White House hopeful Hillary Clinton is not known for having an especially cozy relationship with the news media but on Thursday she wooed the journalists traveling on her plane with chocolates and Valentine wishes.
Clinton, whose bid to become the first woman U.S. president has hit a rough patch amid a winning streak by her rival Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, paid a visit to the press cabin of her plane and handed out chocolates to the journalists.
Noting that she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have a tradition of spending Valentines Day together, the New York senator was apologetic about the fact that the journalists had to be away from their loved ones on Valentines Day and even phoned the girlfriends of two of the journalists to tell them so.
I wanted to apologize to you that Fernando is with me and not you on Valentines Day, Clinton told Michelle Levy, the girlfriend of CBS producer Fernando Suarez. Joking with Levy, she said, I would love to be Fernandos second choice for Valentines Day.

Giving chocolates to journalists...and giving what, precisely, to super-delegates?
After all, there are no campaign finance restrictions on giving unlimited amounts of money to the Dems’ super-delegates...

Knowing journalists, it would get her more love if she’d just hand out free booze.

Chocolate is bribery.
Ladies, you know I’m telling the truth.
(I’m not saying it’s bribery for sex, but it does tend to cause a favorable reaction, si?)
