G'Night!
Exactly right. The right does not have the MSM to work tirelessly with Goebells propaganda, turning vapid, empty losers such as Jimmy Carter or Barack Obama into the next great leader.
Many DELUSIONAL WONDERS here think that by magic, all of the communist programs implemented by either one of the current RAT communists will just disappear in 2012, when in fact, once programs get enacted, it takes an act of God to undo them.
Your inability to see any difference between Ford and Carter reveals your extremism. Carter’s impact on our country is being felt today via Iran.
OTOH, declaring to the world that you are going to sit out an election, saying that you would willingly allow a Marxist to become POTUS and conceding that you are willing to risk defeat in the GWoT because a party candidate is not conservative enough is behavior consistent with a "crazy uncle."
More than likely, the Dems will win big in 2008. Not because conservatives are staying home or at least not voting for the top of the ticket, but rather, because the larger Dem base is far more energized, as was the case in 2006. Certainly having a candidate like McCain will depress the GOP base [what party nominates its maverick as its standard bearer?], but I doubt if any Rep could have won this year. The only glimmer of hope is that the Dems nominate Hillary who has very high negatives. She is the only candidate who can energize the GOP base.
Absolutely. Somehow conservatives have made Hillary, and particularly Obama, into these general election giants. I don't believe either of them are in the same league as billy jeff. The way that billy jeff co-opted Newt's agenda and claimed it for himself was politically brilliant. Clinton was moderate enough in his politics that he was somewhat believable in claiming his support of conservative ideas.
Rove said “F@ck the conservatives; where will they go?!”
Obviously, no one “forced” anyone, but the primary system and GOP machinery and pundits were intentionally geared by Rove and his fellow travelers to favor RINOs.
Nine months is an eternity in the world of politics. Potential catalysts in favor or against are too numerous to list. Our goal as Conservatives must begin at the grassroots level ASAP.
Aside from that, relax, keep your powder dry and enjoy watching the Dims rip *their* party apart. It IS happening and the scream of Dean is about to be heard....once again!
lol
Regardless, I will not be voting for McCain under any circumstance. If John McCain can vote on the basis of principle and conscience over party, so can I.
That is certainly your right.
I refuse to turn our armed forces over to Socialists.
However, I’m certain that we BOTH agree we need to take responsibility for locating, recruiting and supporting candidates of OUR choice in the future!
I agree the primary process needs to be revised. Get rid of winner take all voting, dont compress the primary schedule, and restrict primary voting to registered Reps. If we do that, we will have a party nominee who will have the support of most of our party. Prior to Tuesdays voting, McCain had won only 31% of the total primary vote and had become the presumptive nominee of the party.
What party is stupid enough to nominate its maverick as the standard bearer? Answer: the GOP. McCain gamed the system and won. We will pay for it in November.
On the other hand, those of us with foresight can easily see a redux of 1994 coming if BHO or HRC get elected. Two years of extremely liberal garbage, reminding the American people of why they elect Republicans. That gives us two years to show why we are deserving of getting a do-over.
You have the underdogs are on top
National defense don't matter compared to "conservative principles".
What's that got to do with anything? That's nothing compared to "conservative principles". McCain doesn't have enough. Does he think conservatives are stupid or something?
What is that supposed Republican controlled Congress that you think is guaranteed going to do after Iraq is lost? Order Obama/Hillary to reinvade? How are they going to reverse whatever bizarre legislation passed by then? Remember anything they do to repeal it can be vetoed and fillibustered in the Senate. Then there’s the judges that they appoint that will be there for decades. Is having a Republican Congress the only thing that matters? Is that what you live for?
