It won’t be long before they accuse us, too. One of my sources who grew up with Mugniyeh and remains close to his family in Lebanon, told me yesterday morning that Hezbollah surveillance teams picked up the arrival at Beirut airport of an 8-man U.S. paramilitary team just two days before Mugniyeh was killed.

Somehow I don't think our specops boys use the Beirut airport when they travel. But, I really don't know...any comment from the more informed?

I'm not more informed, but I agree it is unlikely that they arrived by commercial scheduled air.

Maybe one or two of them might have - probably on seperate flights. But I doubt that any commander would risk the whole 8 man mission by sending the team in all together so Hez surveillance could pick them up. Not good tradecraft.

Yea, that struck me as kinda odd too..........

That and the fact that Timmerman is attempting to switch the focus of attention from Iraq's involvement in 9/11 to Iran.

Personally, I don't really care who was at fault, Iraq was the right thing to do and Iran should definitely be the next target. My concern here is Timmerman's attempt to now switch the blame to Iran and profit from his writings...........

Is he right or is he full of baloney? I don't know..........

Delta guys have flown in and out of Beiruit International. In fact, as soon as I read the referenced quote, Delta was the first group that came to mind. Offhand, I’d say they know their way around Beiruit better than any other US paramilitary organization, given their experience escorting State types from zone to zone.

I don’t see Delta operating in Damascus though. My gut says there’s only one outfit with the numbers, experience and infrastructure necessary to operate covertly and violently there. Starts with an “M”.
