God Bless you my friend
Ok, pastor, if “the world” is supposed to hate Huckabee as it hated Jesus, why would you expect “the world” to VOTE for Huckabee?
God says in the bible that He raises up kings (rulers in general) and nations, and he brings down kings and Nations, but many times He doesn't raise up or bring down the kings who we would think He should. I have no idea what He wants to do with Huckleberry, but if the polls and delegate counts are correct He will need to perform a major miracle to raise him up to the White House.
OTOH, Rush and Hannity aren't lesser deities who can impose their will on the nation the way that only God can, they're just gods in their own minds who think their opinions are always correct and couldn't possibly be anything but annointed by God Himself. As for Rush and Huck, Huck committed the unpardonable sin of raising taxes in AR so he's forever damned to the nether regions of hades, and as for Hannity, Huck probably didn't pay the obligatory homage to Hannity's Fox News star status so he's off the A list with him as well. Nevermind that most of the prominent GOP hopefuls committed equally wicked or worse sins such as Mitt's multiple sins as governor of one of the most heavily taxed and liberal-dominated states in the union, or Rudy's socially liberal abominations n ultra-liberal NYC, they were OK because they weren't weighted down with all that bothersome baggage that the pesky evangelicals and gun rights supporters insist on in a nominee such as a pro-life and anti-gay "rights" record, or an unbroken record of supporting the 2nd Amendment rights of gun owners. I wasn't particularly put off by either Rush or Hannity's obvious disdain for Huck because by the time I got my chance to vote the man I supported, Hunter, and my 2nd choice, Fred, were already eliminated, and I voted for Hunter anyway just because he was still on my ballot.
Rush claims to be a pro-life, anti-gay "rights" social conservative, but it doesn't take many hours of listening to his daily self-aggrandising rants to learn that his primary interest is keeping as much of his vast wealth in his and his multimillionaire associates's investment portfolios and away from the tax collector as possible, and just enough lip service to social policy to keep us whiny evangelicals and gun rights yokels listening and his ratings high enough to demand the kind of compensation he gets for his daily 3 hours of self adoration.
Personally, I stopped listening to Rush's show when it became as much a recounting of his close relationships and association with prominent politicians, popular entertainers, and sports personalities on golf courses and stadium boxes at major sporting events as it is a political commentary and call-in show. IMH and insignificant opinion Rush is just a small town boy who made good in the big city and has become a self important political mover and shaker in his own mind. As for Hannity's mind, I doubt that he has enough mental capacity to spare any room in there for a cogent thought about who or what he is or aspires to be.
All this is just my opinion of course, and doesn't necessarily represent the views or opinions of any sponsor.
LOL
This election cycle is really reaching the heights of absurdity.
Now, Rush Limbaugh is a liberal, and some guy from who-knows-where claims Huckabee is a conservative!
Just when you thought you heard it all...
A worthy goal that I emulate. Interesting that this is a comdemnation of character on Free Republic. What are we coming to? Populist Free Republic web site based on class and wealth warfare?
LOL! Phobophobe, when you have nothing to fear but fear itself. Actually, it is those tacking phobe and phobia onto anything and everything because those to whom the description is to be applied, simply disagrees with you. One may disagree with ones wife, but that doesn’t mean he fears her. Well, perhaps shortly thereafter, but not at the time of the disagreement. :)
How do you answer the view that Huck’s liberalism in AR is a result of AR’s long-time liberalism. It was liberalism demanded by liberals at the STATE level, but he would not necessarily be liberal at the national level.
Pastor Bob,
Stick with the Gospel of John.
Sincerely,
jw
Sure. The Huckster’s greed, graft, and lying are such “conservative values”.
Rush is right.
I don’t think some “Reverends” can be trusted either.
I certainly hope not, but I think that FR should allow room for opinions that more or less agree with a little bit of what the site's owner apparently places a high value on and not totally on the also important fiscal policies and accumulation of wealth and social status emphasized by some posters..
Lovely - where do I sign up for the “Theocracy ‘08” party?
I get your point and have often maintained that I do not fear homosexuals, but simply dislike their lifestyle and agenda. The nomenclature of your post was just too funny to let pass. As for MrsDrumbo, there is an aspect of fear in disputing She Who Must Be Obeyed.
FRegards
Pastor Bob is a fool and so are you. Keep on going down your primrose path to elitism and socialism while hiding behind your Bible. You can count me out.
But Rush said none of them are conservatives...it is not correct to state that Rush made Romney a conservative. That is a mischaracterization which is necessary to support this silly thesis.
I am being told from all sides that if I do not agree with one group or another, I am promoting evil. This is the reason we are so divided as a country...it’s my way or the highway...all of this tripe is Brave Sierra...
Rod...!!
I think I found the answer in your tagline....
Bob Celeste is a false teacher and member of a cult. He is headed to hell himself. Great article on the KJVO crowd:
