Clinton plays for keeps TRIBUNE-REVIEW BY Salena Zito Yes, poll numbers are slipping away from Hillary Clinton and shifting toward Barack Obama. And if former presidential campaign manager for Bill Clinton David Wilhelm is an indicator of things to come, super-delegate support is being peeled away as well. Yet with all of that going against the junior senator from New York, it would be unwise to count her out just yet, or ever.
Because as dodgy as things may get for Clinton, she is not one to give up -- even when facing a 10-game losing streak from contests that began in Maine last week and will end in Hawaii next week.

I would never count out the Clintons. Not until we see the vote at the Denver convention. Or the vote count on the evening of Nov. 4th. And even if down this time, there’s always 2012 or 2016. I wouldn’t count out Hillary from running in the future if this year doesn’t work out for her.
I still think she will get it.
I don’t think that is the worst thing because I think Obama is a worse thing.
I think she is more beatable, and should she beat McCain, I prefer her to Obama for war on terror stuff. But not by much. I think they both will be disasters in that regard.
We want Hillary to beat Obama.
We want McCain to beat Hillary.
But we don’t want McCain to win.
And we don’t like Huckabee.
I give.
There is an optimistic possibility: We depose the Clintons once and for all, our Conservative entreaties manage to calm down McCain’s more goofy impulses, we elect strong conservatives to the House and Senate who will help make sure McCain’s more goofy impulses are held in check, and McCain beats Obama.
I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad scenario.
#5 is for you, too. We have to get up off the floor and start planning.
What’s great is the crossover voters who go out to do in the Beast.
I did it in NJ as I am an independent. When I knew my vote for Romney wouldn’t make a dent, I happily pulled the lever against the witch.
Every bit helps.
Hoorah! I hope more people start talking like this on FR. It's been a lousy couple of years for us conservatives. The election is probably going to suck, but I for one am sick and tired of feeling cr@ppy about everything. The funk we've all been in is damn near UNAMERICAN. The election is what it is. It's time we started dealing with it like men, and stop whining like a bunch of girls. We have more influence than we know.
Thanks. I, too, am tired of all this “Woe is me...”
THe Clintons play for keeps and I expect some serious shenaigans before they even consider throwing in the towel.Besides they know where the bodies are buried.
On the nail head, Jenny!
We want Hillary to beat Obama.
We want McCain to beat Hillary.
But we dont want McCain to win.

LOL. Fav post in a long time.
McCain is a cranky old guy. Obama is a charismatic young guy. I know that shouldn't be important, but it is. I can't see McCain beating Obama.
