McCain ad guru wants Obama win (and other damning information- Reform Institute)..
World Net Daily ^ | February 13, 2008 | Jerome R. Corsi

Posted on 02/13/2008 6:36:21 PM PST by JSDude1

John McCain's ad guru, Mark McKinnon, is on record with his admiration of Democratic front-runner Barack Obama, and has vowed to make no television commercials which would harm Obama's campaign. Paul Weyrich, president and CEO of Free Congress Foundation, said things might have been different if information such as the revelations about McKinnon and WND's report that McCain's foundation has been funded by billionaire George Soros since 2001 had been available earlier. "This validates everything that those of us who have reservations about McCain have been saying,” Weyrich said.

So the point is, McCain’s campaign hired an apparently talented guy (in his field). This guy has hopes of getting into the Obama campaign if he gets the nomination. Then they’d have to hire somebody else.

So.....is that it?

Alert:

World Net Daily's Jerome R. Corsi
Needs to Do His Homework

If you are serious about desiring a candidate other than McCain, start first with factual information, and read beyond the title before running with nonsense derived from a sensationalist article you heard about or glanced at in World Net Daily.

Everyone already knew, that is, apparently everyone knew except
Jerome R. Corsi, that McKinnon was a consultant for the Democrats up until 1997 when McKinnon's good friend George W. Bush talked McKinnon into becoming a Republican strategist.

In other words...

McKinnon not wanting to campaign against Obama isn't news.

From the June 2007 Statesman article:

"...McKinnon, who worked only for Democratic candidates before signing on with Bush in 1997, confirmed a Newsweek report that he notified the McCain campaign around January [January 2007 emphasis added] about his decision not to work against Obama..."

August 2007: McKinnon Likes Obama (McKinnon was first a Democrat then he wasn't...)

Yes. The article in World Net Daily is much ado about nothing. Mark McKinnon as political consultant/strategist was and always will be a hired gun for whomever hires him, period.

McKinnon was well known as a consultant for the Democrats up until 1997, when his good friend George W. Bush talked McKinnon into switching sides and becoming a Republican strategist.

Then in January 2007, McKinnon was quoted as saying that he would not campaign against Obama.

See post # 24 here

Yeah. That’s what I gathered. McCain bashers are in such a feeding frenzy, they apparently aren’t reading what they’re posting.

It was McKinnon’s assistant who was caught on a Post Office security video mailing out practice tapes of George Bush’s practice debates against Al Gore — to the Gore campaign. Don’t know why I remembered that... just thought it was odd at the time that McKinnon was formerly a Dem working for Bush in 2000.

The story is true and was posted in the Washington Post today also.

BTW, many conservative Republicans came out and campaigned for Arlen Specter...it doesn’t make him a conservative.

“Yes. The article in World Net Daily is much ado about nothing”

just like McCain’s flip flops on taxes are nothing. His open borders amnesty bill is nothing. his support of stem cell research is nothing. his global warming tax scheme was nothing. his attacks on free speech are nothing. his desire to run as Kerry’s V.P. was nothing. and his desire to leave the Republican party was nothing.
I guess he’s Mr. Nothing.

If you read my post #5 above, you’ll find that I knew about McKinnon in 1999 and posted all the info then.

One point you may want to consider is that pro-McCain people should be worried about what McKinnon is going to do to McCain that will help Obama win.

Anti-McCain people already know McCain is a dope to trust McKinnon.

I remember some controversy about McKinnon being brought up during the 2000 campaign and where his loyalties were. Don’t remember much detail, but the name struck me as familiar.

Donna, I did read your post #5, but did not see any mention of the close friendship Mark McKinnon and George W. Bush shared, a close enough friendship that would lead George W. Bush to ask Mark McKinnon to become a Republican strategist in 1997.

"One point you may want to consider is that pro-McCain people should be worried about what McKinnon is going to do to McCain that will help Obama win."

If one asks that question, one must also consider first, what enticed President Bush to the extent that President Bush would introduce McKinnon as a close adviser and friend, hire him and accord McKinnon the trust which comes with such high office.

Then one must also ask what Mark McKinnon has done to President George W. Bush for over a decade while employed as a trusted adviser of President George W. Bush.

Why didn't you include all of the information you had in your 1999 post? It was an excellent well written post, although because of the time elapsed, most of the links have expired.

If we as Conservatives have trusted President George W. Bush all this time, how can we not then extend our trust to those friends of President George W. Bush who he himself hired and employed yet maintained a close friendship for over ten years.

Or is it just when President Bush's friends join ranks with a candidate we despise that we then transfer and publicize our distrust of that old friend and adviser of President Bush's who has now crossed back over to "camp" from which he originated.

"Anti-McCain people already know McCain is a dope to trust McKinnon."

If McCain is a 'dope' to trust McKinnon for these past two years, what do you call President George W. Bush for trusting McKinnon for over ten years?

The first line of my post from 1999:
“Mark McKinnon, Communications Director for George W. Bush”

George Bush was running in 1999 and I was exposing Dubya’s choice of a big fat liberal as his communications director because it proved that Bush was a big fat liberal just like McCain is, too.

McCain can’t even keep McKinnon’s loyalty, LOL.

You should stop talking about this because you are in over your head.

You are right. McCain isn’t the perfect conservative, and not the perfect candidate. But this is politics not perfection. No way to win a general election unless our tent is big enough to attract enough votes in the right combination of states. If we can retake congress, they should be able to keep McCain’s cracks from spreading. If not, a President McCain is still better than a liberal in the oval office and a Democrat controlled congress.
