The more I dig into the background of the Obama Che Guevara Flag Lady, Maria Isabel, the more amazed I become at the incredible level of her utter hypocrisy. Here is the money quote from this :

"It’s wrong to try to implement restrictions in my private property. I own this piece of land. This is America. I should be able to do anything I want with it."

This from a supporter of Communist thug, Che Guevara, whose government STOLE property from Cuban citizens. The same Cuba where Maria is from yet she sees NO irony or hypocrisy in worshipping Che Guevara while vociferously defending her property rights.

This woman is a real PIECE OF...work.

Don’t you see, this is how communists and socialists work. What is yours belongs to the collective ... but what is mine belongs to ME! And don't touch it!

People are so clueless and uneducated today I would be surprised if they understand at all what communism is.

She needs to move back to Cuba and have whatever property she owns expropriated by the Cuban regime. Did this woman ever think how Cubans felt when Castro STOLE all their property? NO ONE (except commie officials) is allowed to own property in Cuba.

OLD SIXTH WARD - Residents celebrate landmark status - Neighborhood designated as protected historic district by city
Houston Chronicle (TX) - August 9, 2007
Author: JENNIFER FRIEDBERG, Houston Chronicle Correspondent

EXCERPT

Not all pleased

But not all residents are pleased with the designation.

Maria Isabel , leader of the Sixth Ward Property Owners group, said she is troubled by what she sees as unfair restrictions on private property.

“It’s been very difficult for many of us that purchased property in the OSW under one law, and now the laws have changed without the property owners’ consent; laws pertaining to our property rights for what we can do or cannot do with our own private property,” Isabel said in an e-mail.

The Planning and Development Department gauged property owners’ approval of the protected district through mail-out cards, to which a majority responded favorably, and public hearings.

“It does not have a policy for fire, or for a new potential home buyer paying $200,000 for a lot and choosing not to build a faux bungalow following the new restrictions mirroring life when folks did not have automobiles,” she said.

“Under the Freedom of Information Act we have requested documents from the city, and are consulting with an attorney to help our neighbors challenge this new unprecedented, forced plan violating our property rights,” she said.

THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD - What’s the difference between a historic house and an empty lot? In Houston , it’s 90 days.
Houston Chronicle (TX) - July 10, 2005
Author: LISA GRAY, Staff

YES, the house’s new owner, Barry Norman, told the city commission, he knew he was buying property in a historic neighborhood, the Old Sixth Ward. But had no intention of keeping the little Queen Anne cottage that stood at 1814 Lubbock since 1885. In fact, he was applying for permission to tear it down.

On the lot, Norman and his wife, Maria Isabel , proposed to build an aggressively modern house out of concrete block, metal and Hardiplank siding. Isabel, an architectural designer, had drawn up the plans herself.

With its tallest point (a meditation tower) at 49 feet 9 inches, the new house would loom over its one-story neighbors, blocking their views of nearby downtown. Though the neighbors’ porches hug the sidewalk - the old-fashioned setback is only 10 feet - the new house would hang back 17 feet and more, creating an unsettling gap. And to the pretty street, the house would present a blank face: a wooden fence and the door to a garage big enough to accommodate five cars and the couple’s RV.

Isabel and Norman’s dream house would be, to say the least, very different from the dilapidated 1885 cottage currently on the lot. That cottage was built by Urbain Valentine, a son of Peter Valentine, the Houston valet university founder William Marsh Rice (and no, not the one who famously murdered Rice in New York). When Rice retired to New York, he left his elderly Houston valet a large sum in appreciation for years of service. Peter Valentine died soon after, and his widow divided the money among their six children. Urbain Valentine used his share to set up housekeeping in what was then a middle-class neighborhood.

(snip)

On Sept. 2, Norman and Isabel will be free to raze the house. “I want to get the neighborhood cleaned up,” says Isabel, who likes the Old Sixth Ward for its proximity to downtown, Memorial Park and Buffalo Bayou. “Right now that lot is full of bums. People come and put trash there. Cleaning it up - that’s my thing. The historical movement, it’s not my bag.”

(snip)

I despise these convenient Americans who declare their “rights” and freedoms but have done nothing to maintain and preserve.
