You probably need to give people more time to gripe.

And McCain needs to step up too.

As I noted on another thread, in the not too distant future I expect to see McCain, a talented legislator, introducing legislation to make the temporary Bush tax cut permanent. As well as legislation directing GWB to spend the money to build the wall whether he want's to or not. Perhaps an increase in funding, Hunter could help in the House.

He's plenty of time, and opportunities to prove himself to his conservative detractors.

Nope.

A better choice will come along eventually. If not, I’ll leave the ballot blank for this race.

This begging for votes and selling off conservative principles and discount prices is pretty disgusting.

BUMP THAT.

"If McCain picked an outstanding Conservative, and I knew he was terminally ill, and wouldn't make it through his first term as President, I'd vote for him."

Not good enough. McCain could do more damage in 2 yrs. than either of the Democrats could do in 4. None of the 3 will EVER get my vote and there is nothing he can do in the future to change that because I know what his past performances show.

It was a joke. I wouldn’t vote for him if he was the last Republican on earth.

I have to agree with you. The atmosphere on the Republican side is getting almost as bad as the demoncrat party was in 1968. If we want a more conservative candidate in the primary election, we just have to work harder and plan better. I mean, we(well, I am a conservative but have voted Republican for many years) sure taught the Republicans a lesson in ‘92 and allowed Clinton to take office for eight long years, didn’t we?

I also see that some of the stuff posted against McCain doesn’t stand up under scrutiny. One thing I keep hearing is that he voted against Bush’s tax cuts twice. Well, if you post that you’r only telling half the truth. Turns out that yes, he did vote against the cuts. Reason being, the tax cuts weren’t balanced by an equal cut in govt. programs. Quite a reasonable viewpoint, actually. From what I read, McCain is quite the fan of reducing Govt. spending. I do like that.

I don’t agree with all of his positions, but do agree with many of them. I will be voting for McCain in the primary this coming Tuesday even though he wasn’t my first choice (Fred Thompson was). I think that if we reject the Republicans now, the only message we will be sending them is that they need to become more liberal to get the votes (even though the libs. will never vote for a Republican).

Oh, yes. Then there are the Supreme Court Nominees...

AMEN!

I cannot fathom these folks who take it upon themselves to speak for Conservatives and declare that they would vote for Osama Obama or Hildebeast rather than vote for McCain! Certainly, there are a number of people I think could be a better choice than McCain, but they're not in the picture. The choice comes down to a muzzie (I'm not buying his story that he's a Christian) or an individual that has (or should have) "666" somewhere on them, versus an American who genuinely served and spent time being tortured as a POW. Regardless of what these self-appointed pundits say about McCain's lack of true conservative credentials, I love this country too much to turn it over to the muzzie or the anti-christ, so I'm supporting McCain fully.

“i will not take any of that kind of crap on behalf of McCain.”

Right, because McCain will personally come and key your car.

And when Hillary or Hussein watch gas go to $200 a barrel and you have to turn your household heat off on even days because Iraq is controlled by Iran, remember you could have voted for McCain...but of course, you have your conservative principals.

>> Get over it. McCain will be the GOP nominee.<<

Makes we want to tell who ever wrote that, “Screw off!” That’s a lovely way of healing over divisions: “Get over it!” That’s part of why I hate McCain so much. And his lemming-minded and pinko followers.
