Prayers for peace and comfort to your mother and your family.
Thanks and offer accepted!
Being a hospice nurse myself, I can without reservations tell you your family has made the best possible choice.
We neither speed it up or slow it down, just keep them comfortable and facilitate a comfortable death, whenever it occurs.
And what you’re feeling is common. At this point there’s really no “normal”. Look at it as one of the few times in life you get a free pass.
And FWIW kidney failure is one of the best possible ways to go. If I had a choice from a menu, I’d pick that one over all the others. And stopping dialysis virtually guarantees no lingering around either!
Is she in a hospice facility or still at the nursing home? If she’s in the nursing home does the hospice offer “continuous care”?
(PM me, I know this is a private matter.)
Lead Me Gently Home
Words & Music: Will L. Thompson, 1879
Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home,
When lifes toils are ended
And parting days have come;
Sin no more shall tempt me,
Neer from Thee Ill roam,
If Thoult only lead me, Father,
Lead me gently home.
Refrain
Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home,
Lest I fall upon the wayside,
Lead me gently home.
Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home,
In lifes darkest hours, Father,
When lifes troubles come;
Keep my feet from wandring,
Lest from Thee I roam,
Lest I fall upon the wayside,
Lead me gently home.
Refrain
And while your Mom’s mind may be wandering in places we know not, perhaps she is listening to the faint strains of the heavenly choir that will become Heaven’s joyous sounds when she is gently led home.
May it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen ...
Sounds like she married a great guy as well as having a great father.
I don’ think that I realized how much that I miss my own father until my husband passes away, and I saw how much it affected our children.
Hold this family so very close to Your heart as they endure this time of transition. May they all know Jesus as their Savior so that their eternal destiny is secure and may they trust in You to bring them all together again one day in a far better place. Be their comfort and their strength as they trust You with this precious loved one, for who in all of heaven and earth will take better care of her than will You? May Your Holy Name be glorified in her last great victory---that of death itself, and may she join the heavenly hosts in praising You. In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
God Bless you and your parents. The Lord does listen to your prayers.
Best wishes to you and your family. Remember she’s had a good long life.
G-d bless you and your family. My family just went through this with both our parents. My dad passed Oct 25th, and my mom on Dec 3rd. Prayers are with you.
(((Hugs)))We just went through this with my sister.I will pray 50sDad.
Oh, I am so sorry. It is hard, so hard to loose your parents. I will pray for the things you asked for, and I wouldn’t worry too much about the lack of feelings. Right now, you’re probably just numb and in shock. But they are there, and they will come in their own and perfect time.
God bless you and yours.
She ent there tonight, thanks for the support.
Prayer sent.
God be with you and your mom. My mother also received hospice care.
1 Corinthians 15
We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” ...
...The last enemy to be destroyed is death
Peace be unto you and your family.
May the light of the Lord be with you!
Prayers for your mother and for your family.
I shall keep your mom and dad in my prayers and pray God’s mercy may be comforting to you and your family. God bless and keep in prayer. I have lost most of my family and miss them despite the fact they were all pretty crazy and had some serious issues but still dream and miss them anyway. God bless.
