Watch the replays on Showtime of their “Bullshit” show. You will change your opinion of the on a myriad of topics. They are libertarians, not liberals. The gun control and environmentalism shows cracked me up. They do go after organized religion as well, but they are straight forward about their positions.
I ran into Penn before one of his shows in Vegas. He’s a very nice fellow and took a few minutes to talk with me. I don’t agree with his politics, but again, he comes from a libertarian view point that I can understand.

Don’t forget the episode on recycling.
Very useful for putting some of the crazier eco-nuts (and more than a few casual ecologists) in their place.

The show where they sent a producer to an environmental rally to gather signatures for a petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide was absolutely hilarious. Similar to the Man Show stunt where they went to a women’s rally with a petition to ban women’s suffrage and got a ton of signatures.

Penn is libertarian on issues like drugs and prostitution, even to the point of denying that prostitution fosters the horrible human-traficking and sex slavery trade. He is very leftist on economic and other political issues. He hates all things conservative and republican.
