I think Huckabee is the best chance to fire a clean shot across McCain’s bow and take the delegates in this winner take all thing.

That's my feeling. I think McCain will still get the nomination, but if he gets it with a bare majority, he won't be able to claim a "mandate". (He will anyway, but it will be just another example of his ego at work.)

Did anybody else hear what I think I just heard on CNN? McCain was being interviewed by a CNN reporter and she asked him something about press conferencing and he made a reference to “jerks like you.” Nobody seemed offended, neither the reporter nor the anchor, so I could have hallucinated it.

My family placed 4 protest votes for Mitt today. The push-polling by Huckabee just confirmed he is the one Republican candidate even worse the McCain. How someone can call themselves a “Christian leader” and run a campaign based on lying about his record as Governor of Arkansas and slandering the other candidates is beyond me. And I say that as an evangelical, so I’m not slamming evangelicals - most of the ones I know share my view of Huckabee and are horrified he has become the face of evangelicalism.

A vote for Huckabee in a vote against McCain! Just like the weekend primaries, we can make it clear to the GOP and McCain that he is not to be our candidate. If Huckabee carries enough of the remaining states to throw us into a Brokered Convention, then we will not have the Liberals and Independents choosing our candidates. Next election each of us should push our states to allow only Republicans to vote in our Primary. For now we must push for a convention choice. There only real Conservative Republicans can choose a candidate that we can all join behind and who will unite the party. Do it today! Vote no to McCain!

I, too, supported Ollie North until I heard Robert “Bud” MacFarlane, incidentally also a highly decorated Marine veteran of Vietnam and Ronald Reagan’s national security advser, speak about him at a Lion’s Club meeting back in the 90s. It was revealing stuff...and something that had (Senate Armed Service king) Warner’s ear too. Ronald Reagan was a hands-off non-micromanager in believing that good people will always do good things and, while I certainly believe that Ollie North is a good person and was an excellent Marine, even he has admitted to going a bit too far in Iran-Contra.

I held my nose and voted the anti-McCain, McHuckabee. Since it's a winner-take-all, I couldn't vote for Paul (too bad).

2% Socialist versus 1% Socialist. What have we come to?

In Alexandria City, 382 Dems voted, versus 92 Repubs. So, any vote in the Primary could be meaningful. Perhaps a McHuckabee victory in VA could force McCain to at least lie better and more consistently to the real conservatives. One can only pray for a miracle - brokered convention; McCain/Soros derailment? Please, oh, please...

So, it's worth voting!!!

Anyone see this interview with McCain?

McCain:I admire the Islam. There's a lot of good principles in it. I think one of the great tragedies of the 21st century is that these forces of evil have perverted what's basically an honorable religion. But, no, I just have to say in all candor that since this nation was founded primarily on Christian principles.... personally, I prefer someone who I know who has a solid grounding in my faith. But that doesn't mean that I'm sure that someone who is Muslim would not make a good president. I don't say that we would rule out under any circumstances someone of a different faith. I just would--I just feel that that's an important part of our qualifications to lead.* (McCain contacted Beliefnet after the interview to clarify his remarks: “I would vote for a Muslim if he or she was the candidate best able to lead the country and defend our political values.”)

OK, I heard it again. John McCain speaking to Dana Bash, CNN reporter, said “and we’ll have a bus for jerks like you.” Jerks Wolf Blitzer and Jack Cafferty noted the remark and took exception, but the Bashee seems to think that was just McCain’s wacky sense of humor.

McFarlane recently wrote an op-ed for McCain, I remember.

Ollie North made the senators “look bad” during his testimony and Warner must of thought it was his duty to keep Ollie out.

I don’t think Ollie went “too far” in defending this nation’s interests and defeating the Communists in Nicaragua.

The current administration is talking to Iran about Iraq right now through our ambassador in Baghdad.

You are 100% right. It’s insane NOT to vote for McCain.
Considering the alternatives...Hillary or Obama? this country is at war and conservatives believe national defense is the responsiblity of our govt..not social issues.
Alot of Navy retirees and the military in Va..will go with McCain over Huckabe.

Hope your efforts fail. America is at war and I prefer McCain over Huckabee and I bet McCain will win in Virginia.

I will NOT vote for McCain in November as a matter of principle and conscience. I can't vote for McCain, Clinton, or Obama. All three favor amnesty, which will destroy this country. I won't be complicit in this.

I voted for Huckabee in the primary to protest McCain as the nominee of the party. So far, McCain has only received 31% of the total primary vote. Some standard bearer for the party. It is going to be a disaster for the GOP in the Fall.
