Another large earthquake has rocked Mexicali.
I looked for it on the Earthquake site..nothing yet.
It’s up.
Pretty remote area of Chiapas, and fairly deep. Likely not a big deal.

Magnitude-6.6 Earthquake Hits Southern Mexico, Effects Felt Hundreds of Miles Away
One of my favorites back in the day.
6.4 Quake hit the area overnight PING>
I was having a tough time getting to sleep around 2am so I counted the Baja quakes this last week.
Easy over 100 lil shakers.
Unusual for Baja in recent history from this daily earthquake peon hobbiest watchers view.
Too many of their countrymen leaving, illegals going north, is causing a weight imbalance of the landmass.....it’s just their section of the earth calling them home
Entirely different quakes/regions, RDTF! Yours IS a large quake! Yours is near the southern Mexican border, maybe 1500 nautical miles from the Calexico shaker.
My personal dividing line is 6.0 mag; larger is a big deal and potentially significant damage, and less will definitely wake you up if it's nearby ... but just isn't a big deal.
Having said all that, TWO mid-5 shakers on the San Andreas fault in a short period COULD be pre-shocks to something bigger coming nearby. That could be tomorrow ... or a year from now.

I say we have a pool on which politician will be the first to blame it on global warming.
For the record, I’m saying Boxer.
I’m sure nothing of importance was destroyed.
Thanks for the ping, Global2010.

Thought I felt a small shake around 4 a.m. PST.
Anywhere near Gadalajara?
Guadalajara, that is.
Wow! Mexico City 390 miles away. They claimed buildings were swaying.
Been a lot of quakes in Mexico lately. Wonder if something bigger is lurking.
5.4 is appreciable, but it's got to be at least 6.0 to be "large" in anyone's book.
It's been over 14 years since the last big quake in California. You guys are way overdue for a real bone-rattler.
It's the stampede of illegals into our country. Now if we could only convince the liberals that illegals cause global warming, we'd be sitting pretty...
I heard it did $160 million in improvements.
