Jeb for McCain (RINO ALERT)
National Review online ^ | 2/11/08 | Byron York

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has endorsed John McCain for president.

"John McCain is a patriot and devoted conservative leader," said Governor Bush. "Like no other candidate in the field, John McCain has made tremendous sacrifices for this nation. He is beholden to no interest other than that of the public good. He is determined and steadfast in his commitment to reducing the burden of high taxes, restoring the people's trust in their government, and winning the war against radical Islamic extremists. It is with pride that I announce my endorsement of John McCain for president."

David and Rush and Ann Coulter have shown that they will stab the party in the back when they don’t get their way. If don’t like it, they can leave. Just quit trying to drag us down with them.

Romney dropped out because he didn’t want to hurt the party leading up to our confrontation with the Dims. Why would he give his delegates to Huck?

If Ronald Reagan were alive and well and the sitting president right now, you neo-Buchananites would definitely call him a RINO and want nothing to do with him.

After all, Reagan DID grant actual amnesty in 1986 (one of his biggest mistakes). So to the Buchananite fringe crew on this board, I guess that makes Reagan a terrorist-supporting RINO of a president who was “the same as a liberal”. Right?

Go ahead and vote for Hillary, that’s where you’re heading anyway.

“Conservatives should strip themselves of referring to themselves as Republicans - that party has lost its way.”

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. To what extent would you take this? What about a parliamentary system with many parties? Perhaps some parties would put aside their differences to form coalitions that focus on promoting those issues that they have in common?

Would one side of the ideological spectrum be more inclined to work together in coalitions for a common good or is intransigence not a right/left thing?

President Reagan would never lie and call McRino a conservative.

No, but Reagan did endorse RINO Ford in 76- a move that set Reagan up to win in 80.

We must go forth from here united, determined that what a great general said a few years ago is true: There is no substitute for victory- Ronald Reagan

So is Lou Dobbs wife, so I don’t know how much that plays a role as much as he’s the brother of George, an openly open borders kinda guy

“After all, Reagan DID grant actual amnesty in 1986 (one of his biggest mistakes)”

So, if that was such a big mistake - shouldn’t we learn from it?

I don’t pretend to be able to read Reagan’s mind, but I doubt if he were alive today that he would support ANOTHER amnesty after seeing the results of the first.

“What about a parliamentary system with many parties? Perhaps some parties would put aside their differences to form coalitions that focus on promoting those issues that they have in common?”

So you would rewrite the Constitution so that you can form coalitions of common interests? Do you think that your agenda would do better in such a system? You would still have to form coalitions with those who have similar issues (today’s Republicans) The Republican Party has formed coalitions, but now every interest group only wants to advance its issues. Coalitions require everyone to give a bit.

If Jeb Bush was such a great governor, why is the State of Florida having a crime wave and there was no budget surplus. It was an illusion. Florida’s having problems - big ones.

Add jeb to the list of Open borders, global warming truther RINO sympathizers

I suspect that some of the people calling everybody a "RINO" are not republican or conservative. They are liberal plants trying to sow discord among the freepers.

It worked so well in 2006 when we were going to teach ourselves a lesson for the good of the conservative movement.

You for one.. Me for another. Even my mother who rails on about McCain, but is planning on holding her nose and pulling the R is one.

“I don’t necessarily disagree with you. To what extent would you take this?”

Not sure, but if enough grassroots conservatives can pull toghether, hold out and not tow the party line maybe we can break up this two party rule, which is fast becoming one party.

2008 could be the bottom and the beginning of a new day.
