The nation’s first serious black candidate for president should be outraged that al-Qaida would try to exploit African-Americans for the terror cause. Oddly, he’s not.

Osama bin Laden’s deputy last week made a sinister pitch to blacks in the U.S., and Barack Obama shrugged.

The Democratic senator was out on the hustings at the time the videotaped screed was released. He could have worked in a denunciation around his well-publicized gaffe about “10,000” tornado victims, but he didn’t. And in the process, he blew a golden chance to look tough on terrorism, and rally both blacks and whites around the flag.

Al-Qaida’s Ayman al-Zawahri earlier this month courted blacks by frequently invoking Malcolm X, aka Al-Hajj Malik al-Shabazz, a past leader of the Nation of Islam.

Shamelessly, al-Zawahri encouraged blacks to join al-Qaida’s holy war against the American “oppressor,” and sacrifice their blood against “injustice” like the “struggler and martyr” Malcolm X.

He noted that the Muslim civil-rights leader condoned “violent” methods to help win equality for blacks, while implying that blacks today are still oppressed.

“I want blacks in America to know that when we wage jihad in Allah’s path, we aren’t waging jihad to lift oppression from the Muslims only,” al-Zawahri said. “We are waging jihad to lift oppression from all mankind.”

Some might argue that Obama shouldn’t dignify such enemy agitprop with a response. But as the brother of a black convert (Roy), Obama must know that Islam is flourishing among African-Americans, even since 9/11, and that dozens of converts have been arrested in terrorism cases from Los Angeles to Miami.

The trend is dangerous because it plays right into the hands of al-Qaida, which is trying to lower its Arab profile by recruiting African-Americans for future attacks. That’s why al-Qaida leaders like al-Zawahri are inviting blacks to convert to Islam and join them in taking revenge on a nation that they say enslaved their ancestors and continues to “oppress” them.

Obama could have stood up and blunted the effect of such a dastardly appeal by saying he’s proof positive blacks aren’t oppressed. But he didn’t.

He could have argued that the civil-rights battle was won through peaceful resistance, and pointed out that al-Zawahri left out of his racial history lesson the fact that Muslim slave traders sold Africans into bondage. But he didn’t.

Obama also could have pointed out that hundreds of African-Americans were murdered by Muslim terrorists on 9/11, and that we are all in this battle against Islamic terrorism together. And he could have praised all the brave black GIs fighting overseas to protect Americans back home. But he didn’t.

Obama could have warned fellow African-Americans to ignore the phony pitches of radical Islamists trying to recruit them to a traitorous cause. Or he could have simply told Osama’s No. 2 to go pound sand up his nightgown.

But he didn’t. He stayed silent. Why?

Too many Americans already suspect that Democrats secretly sympathize with al-Qaida and think America had 9/11 coming. That’s what Obama’s spiritual adviser seems to suggest.

On the Sunday after the terrorist attacks, according to the New York Times, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright preached that 9/11 was a consequence of American foreign policies. Recently, he wrote that the attacks proved that “people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West went on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns.”

Obama says he does not share his adviser’s views, even as he continues to worship at his militantly Afrocentric church in Chicago, which as we noted earlier this year preaches the politics of black separatism.

If Obama hopes to win the White House, he’ll have to do better than that to convince a majority of Americans he’s a pro-America uniter worthy of taking over this war against Islamic terror as commander in chief.

I’m probably voting for Romney, because I’m not quite ready to vote for McCain, I still don’t like Huckabee’s tactics (hearing about push-polls attacking Romney and McCain, while Huckabee claims he isn’t doing anything negative).

It looks like McCain should win pretty easily, so I’m not risking anything voting for Romney, and yet to the degreee people want me to help Huckbee, at least I’m not voting for McCain.

But I’m not sure.

If I were to vote in the democrat primary, I would vote for Hillary, because no matter how much you hate her, she would be a MUCH BETTER PRESIDENT than Obama. And that matters.

Between Obama and Clinton I'd pick Clinton. If the next president is one of them she can be controlled and forced to move to the center like what happened to Bill. She might even renege on taking the troops out of Iraq.

Obama on the other hand has committed to the hard left positions of the democratic party. He'll be forced to be a real socialist.

Another thing about Obama. The more is get to know him the more he seems like an empty suit. Like Martin Luther King's ventriloquism dummy. That scares me.

Of the sorry choices left I'd prefer Huckleberry to the rest. Figure he'd do the least damage.

I figure McInsane will start WWIII before he's done.

Also, the republican party of virginia tracks your primary voting record, and may give you a hard time if they think you are a “democrat” because you voted in the democrat primary.

Our party plan allows us to not allow you to vote in conventions (actually anything but a primary) unless you renounce your evil ways and promise never to do it again.

I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with our party plan, just telling you the ramifications of voting in a democratic primary.

stay away from the polls - don’t be seen near one - you will get indigestion and loose bowels, possibly nausea as well. - you are making a poor choice

Here's the best possible outcome:

1. Obama wins popular primary vote
2. Clinton uses super-delegates to win nomination
3. Blacks sit out general election in protest
4. McCain picks a conservative running mate
5. Hillary embroiled in lawsuit scandal entire election
6. McCain wins general election
7. McCain cathes pneumonia inaguration day
8. Conservative Veep appoints his own conservative veep

Let's roll!

I have little respect left for the way Presidential primaries are frontloaded for liberals in both parties. We still can’t vote until next month in Texas. I don’t think I could vote for either current democrat nominees in good conscience.

I think its a fine line. It would be nice to have the two nearly tied going into the convention. Get the whole dem party at each other’s throats...

I’d never try to talk you out of it. You’re 100% correct.
Obama is Jimmy Carter. It took 4 years of Carter to give us Ronald Reagan. We MAY have to suffer through 4 years of Obama to get another real Conservative in 2012.

At least Obama is not Hitlery Rotton Clinton! She would do more damage to this country in 4 years that anyone could imagine. Think Joseph Stalin in a pants suit.

Let’s hope her reign of terror is stopped once and for all in the primary.

Frankly ... “I just can’t bring myself to vote for (pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, anti-IRS, pro-military) Huckabee, so I’m going to vote for the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate” ... doesn’t compute.

I can’ talk you out of it, but you can by changing your mindset. Thinking along the line that...vote for someone running on the R ticket that won’t win anyway - that you are also opposed to. But don’t stain yourself w/the out and out liberal ticket. But McCain ISN’T an option!

a vote for hussien obama is a vote to secure putting a leftist appeasing live birth abortionist in the WH...

Even Hillary Clinton doesn’t support partial birth abortion, unlike Moloch Obama.

A dumb choice unless you want RATS to win in Nov.

I know what you’re saying about RATS being racist but Hillary will be easier to beat even when you allow for that fact.

If Hillary is the nominee the Blacks in the RAT party will be Pi$$ed off beyond belief and so will the far left RATS that hate her.

All the Millions the RATS gave Osama Obama will have been wasted and those donors wont be giving to the beast for the general election.

Osama Obama does get some mindless mushy middle crossover voters and the Beast will never get them.

I would rethink that plan if it were my vote.

Do it! We can’t let Hitlery anywhere near the Whitehouse. The drive bys are not exactly trumpeting how great her loss was over the weekend. She got pummeled, pounded, shelacked, trampled! Did anyone notice the numbers? She couldn’t even make it over 40%! It wasn’t even close. If there is any doubt about her losing, then we must cross over and vote for the other guy.

Vote Republican and help to bring the party back together again. Don’t put in a vote for the dimocrats! In my mind that is not being true to your party.
