Congressman Tom Lantos of California has died. Lantos was the only Holocaust survivor ever to serve in Congress. His spokeswoman says he died early Monday morning.
Lynne Weill said that Lantos, 80, passed away at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center in suburban Maryland.
And some earlier sanctimonious poster thinks we're supposed to be sad when the devil claims his own? Good riddance
Lantos suffered from esphogial cancer(EC). EC is usually discovered too late and most don’t survive for a long time.
Ann Richards also died of this disease.
If you are taking those little purple pills for GERD..then you also are at tisk and should be carefull to have frequent check ups by good Doc.
“Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name...” I would not want to be in Lantos’ shoes as he stands before his Creator and explains his pro-Molech stance.
I admire the tenacity he had to survive the Holocaust. Still, I never understood why he couldn’t identify the fascism in his political party here in the US.
I wonder if "Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565" will be played at his funeral?
In all seriousness, thoughts of symphathy for his family are in order.
Rest in peace Mr Lantos.
Prayers for Rep. Tom Lantos and condolences to the family.
I also did not agree with his politics but I really appreciated the earlier post to this thread that he was the last of the ‘60’s sincere Liberals.
May he rest in eternal peace. Amen.

The same could be said about Soros.
He survived Hitler’s death / labor camp ..
May he have peace :)
OK,... on three now...1-2-3 Awhhhhhhhhhh
Holocaust survivors should be respected in the same way we respect POW’s from Viet Nam. They have proven their strength. Remember professor Librescu who sacrificed himself to save his students at Virginia Tech? RIP Lantos.
His politics were that of my political enemy, but he served as best he knew how, the American people. I recognize his service, and wish his family the grace, mercy and peace of a Loving God during this time. May he rest in peace.
Bravo!
May he rest in peace. His eyes will certainly see Heaven as he and his family have already been through hell.
God bless them all.
There is no end to human stupidity.
But since I'm not, I'll just say condolences to his family.
Supported the war in Iraq, though disagreed with it’s handling by Bush.
