What is his rationale for staying in if his goal is to help McCain? Embarrass him so much that he is too weak to win in 2008?

Look - Mcaint needs 42% of the remaining delegates to wrap this up. If conservatives vote against him out of protest, then he won’t get them. Can you say “brokered convention?”

Does that count assume that Romney keeps all his delegates? What if Romney can throw some to McCain? I don’t know exactly how this works, and whether candidates who have dropped out can control who their delegates support.
