Clinton's campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, left the position today, to be replaced by Clinton's former top White House aide, Maggie Williams. The change formalizes a shift in the campaign's power structure that began to set in after Clinton's win in New Hampshire,
I've obtained a copy of Solis Doyle's email to the campaign's staff, sent about 15 minute ago:
Over a year ago Hillary launched her campaign for President.
Her announcement began a historic effort that has inspired millions and brought hundreds of thousands to their feet all across this nation.
I have been proud to manage this campaign, and prouder still to call Hillary my friend for more than sixteen years. I know that she will make a great President.
This has already been the longest Presidential campaign in the history of our nation, and one that has required enormous sacrifices from all of us and our families.
During the last month I have been working closely with my longtime friend, Maggie Williams.
This week Maggie will begin to assume the duties of campaign manager. I will serve as a senior adviser to Hillary and the campaign and travel with Hillary from time to time on the road. Maggie is a remarkable person and I am confident that she will do a fabulous job.
Although I will continue to see you all at headquarters, I would be remiss if I didnt thank each of you for your dedication, excellence, and passion over the last year.
You are the best campaign staff in the history of Presidential politics and I am grateful to each of you for your hard work and friendship.
The move doesn't have obvious consequences for the campaign's competing power centers. It's not the coup from Bill Clinton's advisors, the "white boys," that was rumored weeks ago but never came to pass. Williams, like Solis Doyle, is loyal first and foremost to Hillary, and has been very close to her for many years.
But Williams' influence has already been felt, I'm told, in the more ornate language in Clinton's speeches, and her presence adds a new dimension to the politics of Hillaryland.
That is what I was afraid of.
Tell us, Maggie, about the bag of 50 grand delivered by Johnny Chung to the White House. Tell us about how you left for France so you couldn’t be called to testify.
Don’t ya just love the loyalty of the Clintons??? lol
This person better check her six however, she doesn't want to be "Fostered"!
It’s going to be interesting to see how the msm reports this.
Maggie Williams is a nice person.
I don't care for her politics, but I'll say one thing: she's a bit easier on the eyes that John McCain's equally virulent La Raza racist, Juan Hernandez.
Hillary probably thinks Maggie still has the “good” phone numbers to reach the people in the Lippo Group (see: John Huang) and can get them to reroute the money from Obama’s pocket to her own.
Yup, but Hillary’s long, lost Mexican relatives are all Gypsies. They do a mean Macarena.
Boo hoo. Maybe she can lobby for the Chicoms.
None of that's important of course, but today's Gypsies and Travelers are "well integraed" ~ regular equal opportunity employers in fact.
I suspect the tribes are sticking Maggie into Hillary's system to make sure THEY don't lose their investment.
Approximately 18 years by my reckoning...........personally, I can't take their crap anymore......I'll vote for Obama if it means an end to the constant MSM coverage of the Clintons.
I heard someone on Cspan today actually say they voted for Huckabee in the primary but will vote for Obama. The host asked how that could happen, Huckabee to Obama, no answer.
Baloney.
Barack Obama is a liberal. He wants to lose a war. Republicans aren’t going to vote to lose a war. I never believe it when someone says....” I used to be a republican but ever since Bush........”
She could get Ted Danson to reprise his black face role
In other words, how long will it be before Maggie Williams will be replaced by Huma Abedin?!
Quick! Check to see if there is a carpet missing from the campaign HQ!
Hillary still trying to get the black vote? This is pathetic. I can’t wait until this Presidential campaign is over with.
