Boy, that's one weak article. I must have missed the part in High Noon where Gary Cooper poked Harry Morgan in the eye and made a deal with the bank robbers before asking Morgan to stand with him.
I know a lot of people liked High Noon, but I always found it kind of boring. I was more of a "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" kind of guy.

My nominee for The Single Greatest Western Film of All Time isn't a terribly well-known offering... but:
absolutely well worth the time and effort to seek out, if you're a hard core fan of the genre:

I prefer John Wayne's
Quiet Man role: uncompromising and willing to fight for what he believed in.
McCain is, on the other hand, a weak and desperate con man. Only we Conservatives have the moral courage to see through his lies. And only we Conservatives have the moral courage to stand our ground and vote our consciences.
The rest of you RINO weenies have cashed in your cajones for the liberal "safety" of electability. You can comisserate with McCain when he loses. And you can also rot in hell with McCain for selling out our country.

I must have missed the part in High Noon where Gary Cooper poked Harry Morgan in the eye and made a deal with the bank robbers It came right after Gary Cooper denounced Harry Morgan as a greedy, for-profit racist who kept poor immigrants down. It came just before Gary Cooper shot Harry Morgan's wife, and promised to do likewise to anyone who disagreed.
Guess you missed the important scenes...glad to fill you in.
