~EXCERPT~
CINCINNATI Ohios effort to clean up its voting system before the presidential primary on March 4 has pitted state election leaders against local officials over an order to provide a paper ballot to any voter who requests one.
Secretary of State Jennifer L. Brunner, a Democrat, wants to eliminate touch-screen machines for the November election from the 53 counties that still use them and install optical scan machines to provide a paper trail.
Because the conversion cannot be completed in time for the primary in most counties, Ms. Brunner ordered the printing of paper ballots as an interim step.
The paper ballots are not only going to provide a voter alternative for those who prefer not to use touch-screen machines, but they may also alleviate long lines, Ms. Brunner said. We expect a much higher than normal turnout in the primary.

Doesn't this idiot know that most Democrat lemmings are against optical scan machines too?
Fur Shur paper ballots are about the easiest vote form to corrupt ~ and that's because they have no "audit trail".
Secretary of State Jennifer L. Brunner either knows this and intends to add a new element of corruption in the system, presumably for the benefit of the Democrats, or she's too stupid to pour kool aid out of a boot.
Oh man, you got that right! /laughs
“Secretary of State Jennifer L. Brunner either knows this and intends to add a new element of corruption in the system, presumably for the benefit of the Democrats, or she’s too stupid to pour kool aid out of a boot.”
IMO, the former option is the most plausible. Your analysis on the modernization of our voting systems is extemely accurate. With technological advances occurring at an exponential rate this should be a moot point by now. I guess only if Dems could learn to play by the rules.
What could be easier?
Using touch screens is just asking for trouble. The best way is the simplest way. Pieces of paper that are scrupulously guarded and counted. I worked the polls in Ohio last November, and in my little precinct at least, everyone was bending over backward to do it right. And we couldn’t leave until the number of ballots agreed with the number on the scanning machine, and the number of entries in the book. If there are any shenanigans it has to come later, in my opinion. And the polls are supposed to have an equal number of workers from each party, to keep an eye on each other, I guess.
I worked in Riverside County, CA polls, the first to go all touch screen. The machines were not networked and two people took the cartridges to the registrar's office.
What we should be doing is having a two week voting period, like the mail in period. Kiosks at the mall and internet. Let's figure out what's most efficient and get about the security aspect.
Programming is not all that easy.
No rational person supports "paper ballots".
Remember when AlWhore was trying to sue his way to the Presidency a Palm Beach official was found with a vote machine in the trunk? Without physical security nothing is sacrosanct. Whether it be touchscreen and the Sandisk or a paper ballot box.
Give me access to you voting method of choice and I can fix anything.
I’m a rational person, and I like paper ballots. There will always be fraud unless honest people get involved and are vigilant.
I don’t see how you can be both rational and someone who likes paper ballots ~ unless, of course, you engage in voting irregularities yourself.
Are you accusing me of something just because I disagree with you? You can insult me all you want, you’re just showing your ignorance. I have my opinion, and it’s my opinion. Your stupid accusations are just that—stupid.
