Spare me. Bush is as pro-amnesty as McCain is. Did you vote for Bush in 2004?

Nope. Voted for conservatives elsewhere down ticket, and left the top space conspicuously blank.

Unlike the typical Juan McCain shill, you see: I refuse to whiz my conservative principles down my pants leg, just because some homily-spewing nonentity in a $1500 suit happens to be sporting a large capital letter "R" next to his name. And yourself...?

"But it would require a great turnout of passionate conservative voters in the remaining primary states to accomplish. "

I agree and I'm with you. As a matter of fact, our "dearly beloved" Gov. Rick Perry just made up my mind- It was just announced on Foxnews that Perry called Huckster yesterday (Fri) and asked him to drop out. I am not sure about everybody else, but I am getting sick and tired of being told to bend over and spread my cheeks for McCain. I just decided to vote for the huckster. If enough people do, we might be able to force a brokered convention. But before that happens, if Huck starts to run away with the remaining delegates, the RNC might get the message. WE CAN DO THIS!

I don’t like McCain for many reasons, but mostly becasue of the way he laughed at Americans saying they wouldn’t and couldn’t pick lettuce all day for even $50 an hour. An American in the crowd said “I will do it, when can I start?” McCain just laughed and said we couldn’t do it. He doesn’t respect Americans and has no business being in the Senate, much less getting the nomination for the Republican party for President of the USA. McCain is a disgrace to all Americans, not just Republicans. If McCain is the nominee then there will be no stopping Hillary from winning. That makes me sick just thinking about it. Educating voters about the issues should be everyone’s priority here. The American people need to know just exactly what it is they are voting for, which is not being told by the MSM.

This is a nightmare, Jim.

We are scratching at the bottom of the dumpster here. Who do we have left ? Huckabee ? is Ron Paul still in the race ? My original choice was Duncan Hunter. Then I switched over to Mitt. Now Mitt is gone.

I am afraid that this is going to lead to a 3rd party situation. And that would be a disaster.

To be honest, I am now supporting McCain in a pulling out an absessed tooth to save my life kind of way. The string is tied to the door. I sure dont want to do it. but I feel like there is no other way. its a bad situation to be in.

I think it was George Herbert Walker Bush who said he wanted to work for and live in a kinder gentler America or such. A 1000 points of light..

John McCain is no GHW Bush, My FRiends!

I could vote for a guy like GHW Bush again (heck I voted for Nixon), for all the past family intrigues, if I had to decide based on performance, and keep in mind, he actually raised taxes..

I voted for Other, btw.

Brokered Convention or Bust!;-)

I’m quite familiar with McCain’s faults. I don’t see him as any worse than Bush though. Bush was a disaster. McCain will probably be too. What I don’t get is why everyone’s acting like McCain will be so much worse than Bush has been. There’s no sense of proportion anymore. Hillary, the most corrupt deranged power-hungry politician in decades is just a heartbeat away from the oval office, and *now* — *NOW?* — everyone decides nose-plugging is no longer an option. WTF? Why now and not 4 or 8 years ago? It makes no sense. People could plug their noses to keep Kerry and Gore out, but they can’t plug their noses to keep Clinton out. It’s just weird.

Vote for Ron Paul!!

Exactly. That's what I was posting yesterday. Huckabee is just as liberal as McCain, so we don't want him to get the delegates either. With Ron Paul, it will be a lot more obvious that it is a protest vote...and at least he isn't for AMNESTY!

Our strength is at the local level. 83% of counties in the US are red. We have seen much more inroads with pro-life, pro-marriage and anti-gun control over the last 8 years.

This is our strength. Take congress back from the local level. Go after those senate seats. With that in place, who cares who the President is. If they are made irrelevant or have to negotiate with us, then we really have won.

"If conservatives rally behind Ron Paul in Texas, I think he could have a better chance than Huckabee could."

I disagree- I believe that there are many more evangelicals in TX than Paulista libertarians. I'm now a Huckster convert to smite McCain.

Then you are in no way aware of McCain's faults and haven't bothered to inform yourself.

What are you talking about? "And yourself?"? What is that even in reference to?

You have a point. I used to vote in the dem primary years ago when we lived in Ron Paul’s district. That is where the race was, there were virtually no Republicans there then. All the local races were democrats.

I could still vote for the Republicans in the general where it would matter most.
