"I've already done that. See Post 22"

Indeed, my apologies.

From that definition:

Usable energy is inevitably used for productivity, growth and repair.

This is the crux of the matter, your body takes in a mixture of higher entropy energy (note that state is relative not absolute), converts some of the higher entropy energy into lower energy entropy and in doing so produces an excess of even higher entropy energy. It uses ATP to store that energy until needed to reproduce, grow and repair. During that process low entropy energy is converted into high entropy energy.

One of defining features of life is that it can temporarily reverse local entropy. Gravity does something similar, it produces local pockets of low entropy energy within an isolated system. As long as overall entropy increases towards the maximum of the system the 2LoT is satisfied.

"Do I get paid to do this? Listen up class. Entropy is a gauge of randomness or chaos within a closed system. As usable energy is irretrievably lost, disorganization, randomness and chaos increase."

The ability to cut and past does not equal understanding.

This particular portion of the definition does not validate your claim that the 2LoT prevents evolution. It mentions usable energy, which life uses to reduce local entropy. After that energy is used, local entropy is increased but because there is a source of low entropy energy which is constantly being providing to the system (the Sun), the supply of usable energy is not depleted.

""Entropy" is defined as a measure of unusable energy within a closed or isolated system (the universe for example). As usable energy decreases and unusable energy increases, "entropy" increases.

Again, cut and paste does not show understanding. By the way, you should be quoting those passages to show they are not original.

The universe as a whole may be an isolated system, but the local Earth ecological system is not. As explained above, as long as there is an input of usable energy, that energy can be put to work reversing local entropy.

"My body does not decrease entropy every day. You and I deteriorate every day and someday we will die, the ultimate entropy and disintegration.

Each time your body takes in energy, it produces ATP which stores a lower entropy form of energy. During formation as a child your body reversed entropy more often than not, otherwise you would not have grown. If you did not reverse entropy to a certain extent as an adult you would quickly die. What happens as a adult is the entropy increase gradually overpowers the entropy decrease.

Just as a note, a dead body is not the ultimate state of entropy, even after years of 'disintegration'.

I apologize for not referring back to my original source. If you're interested I'll get it for you.

b_sharp, can we cut through to the point on this? Evolution has a myriad of problems. Just a couple of them: 1) People have to suspend 2LoT in order to buy evolution. 2) There is no known evidence of one species jumping to another. As I said earlier, it is therefore certainly easy to maintain that there is not one shred of scientific evidence of a fish becoming an animal or of a monkey becoming a man.

Compare that with the mountains of evidence and proof that the universe and this world with its innumerable trillions of intricacies, is the product of intelligent design. Intelligent design points to the existence of an intelligent Creator. One wonders why intelligent people continue to deny creation and hold onto evolution. My answer is that in the final analysis, some people have a built-in bias against the existence of God. Why? Because the existence of God means there is One with whom you may have to deal. This is true, but if you don't know Him, you're missing out, because God is Love. Try him, you'll like him.
