You might consider it an endorsement, but I consider it a “rally around the nominee” statement. An endorsement is a statement endorsing and using the words, “I endorse” so in so over someone else. Everyone says McCain IS THE nominee and Fred even in his statement talked about getting behind the Republican ticket. Fred would have done the same if it was Romney in McCain’s spot at this time.
