Ummm, if you went looking, to prove me wrong, then you were,,,,
An earlier theory was that this thread was an audition for a boost from volunteer to paying gig.
Well the unabashed, rah rah spirit is certainly there LOL
A handful of trips (was it 9?) over FOUR YEARS on Keating's corporate plane and payments for air travel to the Bahamas to Keating's personal digs, and elsewhere, for McCain and family. Thousands of dollars in contributions to McCain's campaigns, even when he had no opposition...
McCain only ceased all activities involving Keating as soon as he heard there had been a criminal referral. If he wasn't doing anything wrong, why did he stop what he was doing? And why did he repay est $13K if he did nothing wrong? And how about his wife Cindy and her father investing over $350,000 in one of Keating's shopping malls? It's frightening how poorly you're defending him.
Don't forget the correct McCain response to all of this when confronted with facts: "You're a liar." It should be right there at the top of the talking points from the campaign.
Good job cgk. I don’t expect her to respond except with a “rah rah unite!” but it’s good to keep posting the facts for others to see.
McCain attended two meetings of which full transcripts are available. In the first, he made clear that he wanted no special favors for Keating but he wanted him treated fairly. When Keating asked him to attend the second meeting, McCain refused, friends or not. Only after DiConcini interceded did McCain agree to attend. Again he made it clear that he was there only as a constituant service for a major employer in Arizona. When he heard about the criminal referrals he completely backed off.
Keating's reputation was squeeky clean. He had good solid projects and a history as a hard-driving, no nonsense developer. At the time there were literally hundreds of investment opportunities similar to what Cindy and her dad took.
Yeah, thanks for Mclame, he fights back alright. Usually against conservatives.
Agreed (and wordy too).
I know especially how he stated that he would rather win the war then win the Presidency..
Maybe we all need that kind of selfless self-interest../s
If you keep letting Limbaugh do your thinking you will continue off the cliff..
Lemming
PING!
The largest recipient of Kenny Lay’s $ Was democrat Sheila Jackson Lee.
Look it up!
I'm a technical writer. I edit menus in restaurants. Generally, I ignore mistakes on forums, but since you made a point of stating it isn't in the dictionary, I had to check. Was there some obscure meaning to your comment that it wasn't?
It's an old joke.
You were gullible enough to believe me when I said that "gullible" is not in the dictionary.
Oh, gotcha! I’m smart but I do have my blond moments.
