Live McCain Speech at CPAC
Coburn actually endorsed him before the South Carolina primary, when Thompson was still in the race.
Senator Allen had endorsed Thompson and was on his campaign here in Virginia, and had not re-endorsed anybody after Thompson left.
If he says one more time that he’s a “foot soldier of the Reagan conservative values”, etc. , I will light myself on fire...
my lord...he certainly is inspiring.../sarc
Basically, he said “There are some that may disagree with me and to hell with you.”

McCain will have both sides of the (Congressional) isle standing directly behind him if he gets elected.
Applause is very muted. NOTHING like Cheney’s speech before his.
I’ve seen Cheney and Romney. The conservatives have left. These are McCain people taking over.

An on the ground report said he bussed in a bunch of his minions for they speech.
They are cheering.
“I dont think he is doing well. The audience seems so forced and weird.”
On another thread, Trueblackman gave a first hand account, and said that McCain had bussed in a large crowd of young people who were working the crowd to gin up support for McCain. He said he assumed they would also fill the hall when McCain spoke.
McCain got his bussed in campaign workers eating out of his hand. Hard to say how the real Conservatives are responding.
