Ideas & Agenda for the GOP Party Today
All four remaining GOP presidential candidates attend the 2008 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Sen. John McCain (AZ), Rep. Ron Paul (TX), and Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney (MA) address and seek conservative support at nation's largest annual gathering. Fmr. Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR) speaks at CPAC on Saturday
I agree with you and thank you for the photos.
I seriously doubt all those in line will make it into the ballroom due to fire marshal rules. Needless to say, I am back in the hotel room watching the police set up for the motorcade. You've got to get up awfully early (or stay up all night) to be first in line with a bunch of dedicated conservatives, including dinasour.
We watched Mitt Romney's campaign withdrawal in the exhibit hall with Mary Matalin. In fact, Diotima scooped Mary with the news prior to Mitt's speech.
Following the day's events, we had a "power table" in the lobby bar where we met with a host of notable conservatives. Had a marvelous Thai dinner last night with Interesting Times, The Shrew & Son, and Nick Danger. A good time was had by all!
Thank you for the most excellent report NN:)
Anytime today keep us posted!!
President Bush speaking now live at CPAC..
Saying the bill he’s signing this week to stimulate the economy will be good for America..
the audience doesn’t clap too much at that one..
I don’t like a lot things these candidates stand for eitther so to that we agree... You have seen the error of your ways... My job is done here..
LOL have a nice day..
I can’t find it on anywhere.
Unlike most FReepers, most of my support is actually out in the real world. While I liked Fred, I did have some reservations about him. However, I had far more reservations about every other candidate. Most Fred supporters on FR were far better qualified to discuss him than I, so I let them. I don’t really post that often here anyway.
I can send you my Fred08 bumper sticker if you’d like.
Thank you
President Bush was very warmly received by the CPAC crowd. Time and again, there were chants of “four more years!” Bush discussed how he supported conservative ideals during his presidency. I likened his speech to a State of the Conservative Union.
FNFs this morning said the Laura Ingraham wasn't told about Romney's intent to withdraw in his speech when she introduced him. Thats pretty low of Romney if he did that to her. Do you know if that was the case? I liked her line "You claim to be a foot soldier in the Reagan revolution but what have you done for us lately?".
:)
Q: Why such a dramatic and profound change after pledging never to waiver on a woman's right to choose?
A: I was always personally opposed to abortion, as I think almost everyone in this nation is. And the question for me was, what is the role of government? And it was quite theoretical and philosophical to consider what the role of government should be in this regard, and I felt that the Supreme Court had spoken and that government shouldn't be involved and let people make their own decision. That all made a lot of sense to me. Then I became governor and the theoretical became reality. A bill came to my desk which related to the preservation of life. I recognized that I simply could not be part of an effort that would cause the destruction of human life. And I didn't hide from that change of heart. I recognize it's a change. Every piece of legislation which came to my desk in the coming years as the governor, I came down on the side of preserving the sanctity of life.

AJ, her former producer stated yesterday, that he was in a car with Laura writing and rehearsing her speech on the way to the convention. He said this on Jerry Doyle yesterday afternoon.
They were greated at the car as they arrived and were told there.
Laura had previously done a lot more beating up on McC in her speech, but took out a lot of it to focus on the future, and to be more uplifting.
You’re welcome. ;)
Just because Laura didn’t let the cat out of the bag doesn’t mean she didn’t know when she introduced Romney.
ok, I guess. I don’ t vote for liberals, good luck.
