Questions for McCain at CPAC [Mark Krikorian]

For those of you going to McCain’s talk at CPAC today at 3 p.m., print out these questions for the Senator and take them with you, in case they allow comments from the floor:

Your Hispanic Outreach Director, Juan Hernandez, held a cabinet post in the government of former Mexican President Fox. Apart from Hernandez’s outrageous anti-sovereignty views — for instance, his insistence that Mexican Americans should forever think “Mexico First” — how can you justify using a former foreign government official as the representative of your campaign to a group of American citizens?
You have refused to answer whether you would sign your own immigration bill if it were to reach your desk as president, saying that it’s not going to happen. But what about a bill that could reach your desk, HR 4088, Heath Shuler’s SAVE Act? It is focused exclusively on enforcement — in other words, no “path to citizenship” — and has more than 140 bipartisan co-sponsors. The Senate counterpart of the Shuler bill also has bipartisan support. If it comes up for a vote this year, will you vote for it? And if it reaches your desk next year, will you sign it?
Your colleague, Sen. Jeff Sessions, has put together a 15-point action plan on immigration, which Gov. Huckabee has endorsed. At the Heritage Foundation recently, Sen. Sessions said he hoped his plan would offer you an opportunity to clarify your immigration positions. Will you commit to Sen. Sessions action plan to enforce our immigration laws? And if not, why not?
There’s been some skepticism about the sincerity of your assertion that you’ve “learned your lesson” on immigration with the collapse of your amnesty bill last summer. Will you reassure us by pledging that, at least during your first term, you will focus exclusively on enforcement and oppose or veto any legalization bill from Congress, leaving you free to make the case for legalization to voters in your 2012 reelection campaign?
(h/t Chris Kelly)

Huckabee, McCain, Paul and Romney to seek conservative support at nation’s largest annual gathering of activists, students and policymakers

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Chairman David A. Keene announced that in addition to President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, CPAC 2008 will feature all four remaining Republican candidates for President.

The candidates will appear at the following times over the course of the three-day conference to be held from February 7-9, 2008 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in

Washington D.C.:

Thursday, February 7

Vice President Dick Cheney - 11:00 AM

Governor Mitt Romney - 12:30 PM

Senator John McCain - 3:00 PM

Congressman Ron Paul - 4:30 PM

Friday, February 8

President George W. Bush - 10:20 AM

Saturday, February 9
Governor Mike Huckabee - 9:00 AM

“One of CPAC’s goals is to provide students and grassroots activists the opportunity to further educate themselves on candidates’ positions on the various social, defense, free market and foreign policy issues important to them,” said Keene.

“That being said, hosting both the current President and Vice President and the four frontrunners for the GOP nomination reflect the fact that for more than 30 years CPAC has been — and will continue to be — the must-attend event for candidates seeking conservative support,” concluded Keene.

Something is going on with the schedule on the CPAC site. I don’t see the name of the speaker at 10:15, I thought Romney was supposed to speak at 12 but that’s not there anymore, and there’s nothing on McCain’s speech either.

Conservatives care about the United States so much ...
that they're willing to DEFEAT McCain to save the nation!!!

McCain needs to wake up and smell the "VILE"!!!

"Bipartisanship" Is A Dirty Word; and RUSH: "We want to defeat them"
