Massive Republican Voter Suppression in Southern Calilfornia!
News Talk Radio | 02-06-08 | PsyOp

Posted on 02/06/2008 9:01:01 AM PST by PsyOp

Reports are rolling into talk radio stations in San Diego about massive Republican vote suppression.

Thousands of Republican voters in San Diego and as far north as Los Angeles showed up to vote on Tuesday only to be told that they were registered "Non-Partisan". This meant that they could not vote for the Republican Primary candidates.

Non-Partisan (independent) voters in California can vote for Candidates in any other party, including the Democrat party, but are prohibited from voting in the Republican Primary unless they are registered as a Republican.

Rick Roberts [http://www.760kfmb.com] is currently reporting on this and has had hundreds of calls and thousands of e-mails from people who showed up to vote only to be told they were not registered as Republcans. Reports began rolling into the Roger Hedgecock show yesterday.

Several people have called in saying they witnessed this happening at polling place they worked at as volunteers. One gentleman stated that he believed at least 20% of the Republicans that showed up to vote were denied a Republican primary form because the roster showed them as "Non-Partisan".

The Republican Party in California has begun investigating this issue, but the mainstream media continues to report that Californias election "went smoothly".

It seems clear that someone or some group managed to tamper with the voter registration rolls. Either by direct access to the Registrars computer system, or by gaining access to voter information and then sending in registration cards in their name.

Southern California was projected to go heavily in favor in Mitt Romny.

“The big problem, if you’re trying to play dirty tricks, is identifying which Reps to change.”

You do it in a district that was heavily favored towards your opposition candidate, in this case, Romney was heavily favored.

Of course it should be investigated and not by the registrar. As I indicated earlier, I am sending a letter to the county this week with this and numerous other complaints and suggestions.

My positon is that I start with the facts and withhold the conspiracies until the facts play out.

Given that this is a governmental enterprise, incompetency is the first allegation I make, without ebidence to the contrary.

In the L.A. area, some precincts ran out of Dem ballots because so many DTS (decline to state) asked for a Dem ballot. They stayed open until 10pm in an effort to accommodate voters when they got more ballots.

Yes, and I have the purple stub to prove it.......

Son of a gun! So now the thread has a sort of a balance, one DTS who voted Republican, and one Republican who got switched to DTS.

Glad to see people so blase about vote fraud. Bodes well for the future of the Republic.

I'm shocked. Really. And we have posters saying our votes don't matter anyway. I changed my tagline in honour of the indifference to vote fraud.

I, and Mr. Snerdley, got all hysterical because Rush said that it made sense to put the Huckster on the VP ticket. Tell me this will not be...I could cry!

Well, gatekeeper do what you think is right. I lurked here since 1998 when my husband registered. I signed up after I retired.

If you want to try a purge go ahead.

Before you get egg on your mouse, you might want to do a reading of my positions and stop making spurelous assumptions.

There's nothing conservative or liberal about accurately describing our electoral process. Instead of showing facts to the contrary you think your on the the liberal trail. Bring it!

I suggest people give the registrar’s a day or two, then write or call. Also, a copy to the local paper may light a spark

You are terribly flippant about vote fraud and suppression. Your kind of indifference is what wrong with our country.

And you change stories like underwear.

Your profile: My sister told me about this site about two months ago I read it for a few weeks and then thought I’d jump in.

One more. There are many problems at our polls. I have worked at 3 polls, yesterday for the first time in SD county. In Riverside County the polls were well run, at least the two at which I worked.

Yesterday, after an hour I became the most knowledgeable person. This is scary because I was called at the last minute and had no training in SD or this primary's regulations. The supervisor was generally incompetent and the regional full-time employee was worthless. Twice yesterady I took people aside and worked out their problems after the supervisor was seriously brainlocked.

These are basically volunteer positions, which work a few days every other year, so I don't know what can be done about this big problem.

Can internet voting be far behind?

Seriously, you cant be that dense, can you?

I am perpetuating no conspiracy here. Simply relaying what has been going on. Something unprecedented in this county.

Poll workers have confirmed that this was happening on a wide scale.

As for the Romny v. McCain thing... it does not matter. What matters is that someone managed to alter the voter rolls. That is the only way this could have happened.

I do not believe McCain was behind it. Because, as you say, there would be no way for him to tell for sure whose votes would be suppressed, especially since this is shaking out as a statewide problem not isolated to SD county.

But someone did it. I suspect Dems myself. They have proven willing to do anything to win in this state.

Also, many of these Republicans who were not informed of their right to use a provisional ballot, decided to take a Democrat ballot so they could at least vote for (or against) someone.

This is supported by reports that Dems in CA turned out in higher than normal numbers while Republicans turned out in lower than normal numbers. This being based on the ballots cast.

You know, I’ve just thought of something else, and it has nothing to do with suppressing the Romney vote.

You show up at the polls. You have always voted Republican, but now you’re showing “Declined to State.” Only one of two parties allows you to cross-over - the Dems and the American Independent. Most people don’t realize that they can challenge the registration through provisional ballot, so instead opt to take a Dem ballot and vote. Dems can now claim that the independents are in favor of Obama or Hillary (I’m thinking Hillary was stupid enough to think this would benefit her).

Okay, far-fetched....maybe I should write plot oulines for “LOST” instead.....

“You do it in a district that was heavily favored towards your opposition candidate, in this case, Romney was heavily favored.”

That’s good point. But it would help a lot more in a winner-take-all state. In CA, the primary is by congressional district. If candidate “A” wins a district, he get 3(?) delegates. The winner of the state gets another 11.

If you change the total numbers in a district, but not the percentages, the same candidate gets the 3 (I think) delegates that he would’ve gotten anyway.

Each party sets their own rules for the primary. The dems decided to open theirs up. I think to pick up some more registrations for Nov. The repubs closed theirs I believe to not have disruption from the outside, non-repubs.
