I wonder if Huckabee is going to get a much needed cash infusion at this point? If he does, he could take the ball from McCain in the 4th quarter and score. If he doesn't then my guess is that the scene remains status quo and Huckabee will have the veep slot.

Did you notice the comments Huckabee made last night after the results were firming up? He comes right out with more (and historically consistent at least for the campaign) pro 2nd Amendment rhetoric. If he was in his heart an antigunner (which I know he is not) that subject would never find it's way into his speeches. Yet Huckabee has been consistently raising 2nd Amendment issues thru the whole campaign.

If he's the veep on a McCain ticket I can feel reassured that we won't see any new gun control crap get signed into law. I think Huckabee is a man of integrity and deep seated patriotism. If Huck is at he #2 position, I'll not only vote for McCain, I'll volunteer.

The good news is that this ticket means that you can pass your firearms down to your grandchildren.

The bad news is that your grandchildren will be pressing #2 for English, while their tax dollars go to pay for entitlements for illegals, such as Gov. Huckabee championed, in Arkansas.

And if you disagree with entitlements for illegals, Veep Huckabee will call you a racist, and a demogogue.

“If he’s the veep on a McCain ticket I can feel reassured that we won’t see any new gun control crap get signed into law”

Veeps historically have no power over presidential goals and legislation. The current situation with Cheney is really quite unprecedented. A more normal situation was Gore.
